The more self-love we have, the less we will experience self-abuse.
Self-abuse comes from self-rejection, and self-rejection comes from
having an image of what it means to be perfect and never measuring up
to that ideal. Our image of perfection is the reason we reject
ourselves the way we are, and why we don’t accept others the way they
are.  XOXO D.

Chakras are centers of
energy, located on the midline of the body. There are seven of them, and they
govern our psychological properties. The chakras located on the lower part of
our body are our instinctual side, the highest ones our mental side.

The
chakras can have various levels of activity. When they're "open," they're
considered operative in a normal fashion.

Ideally, all chakras
would contribute to our being. Our instincts would work together with our
feelings and thinking. However, this is usually not the case. Some chakras are
not open enough (being under-active), and to compensate, other chakras are
over-active. The ideal state is where the chakras are balanced.

There exist lots of
techniques to balance the chakras. Mostly techniques to open chakras are used.
It makes no sense to try to make over-active chakras less active, as they are
compensating for other chakras. To restore the compensation they'd be
over-active again in no time. To stop them from compensating, the chakras they
are compensating for must be opened.  XOXO D.

PAN was the god of shepherds and flocks, of mountain wilds, hunting and
rustic music. He wandered the hills and mountains of Arkadia playing his
pan-pipes and chasing Nymphs.  His unseen
presence aroused feelings of panic in men passing through the remote, lonely
places of the wilds.  The god was a lover
of nymphs, who commonly fled from his advances. Syrinx ran and was transformed
into a clump of reeds, out of which the god crafted his famous pan-pipes. Pitys
escaped and was turned into a mountain fir, the god's sacred tree. Ekho spurned
his advances and fading away left behind only her voice to repeat forever the
mountain cries of the god.

Pan
was depicted as a man with the horns, legs and tail of a goat, and with thick
beard, snub nose and pointed ears. He was often appears in the retinue of Dionysos
alongside the other rustic gods. Greeks in the classical age associated his
name with the word pan meaning
"all". However, it true origin lies in an old Arkadian word for
rustic.  Pan was frequently identified
with other similar rustic gods such as Aristaios, the shepherd-god of northern
Greece, who like Pan was titled both Agreus (the hunter) and Nomios (the
shepherd); as well as with the pipe-playing Phrygian satyr Marsyas; and Aigipan,
the goat-fish god of the constellation Capricorn. Sometimes Pan was multiplied
into a host of Panes, or a triad named Agreus, Nomios, and Phorbas.

Be Impeccable With Your Word.
Our words, our thoughts, and our feelings all contribute to the
creation of our reality. Our word is a two-edged sword, it can create
or it can destroy. To be impeccable is to create with conscious
awareness and love. The human mind is fertile ground for the seeds that
are our word. Plant the seeds of love, not fear. Judging, blaming,
shaming, and especially gossiping create poison in ourselves and
others. This agreement alone is enough to break all of our old
agreements and change the dream of our life.

Always Do Your Best. Your
best changes from moment to moment, sick or well, tired or rested.
Remember that you are an imperfect human being. We can extend to
ourselves and to others compassion for our human-ness and reverence for
our divinity. There is no value to judging yourself for "failing" - and
no truth to it either. When you are not impeccable, when you take
something personally, or make an assumption, you are still doing your
best, and you are still a beloved child of Spirit. Agree to always do
your best, with love and acceptance for the imperfect divine human that
you are.  XOXO D.

The body is a beautiful thing. No matter what
your girth, your height, your physical condition or your color, your body is a
Divine tool. The body has its own intelligence. The body, mind and spirit are
separate yet connected. The fact that the body is full of knowledge may be a
new concept. In the world of energy, energy medicine and our divine spirit, the
body gives us answers to our questions and issues all the time. Our body holds
every emotion and every experience we’ve ever had.  Our bodies are
knowledge. Our life information, our emotions, our thoughts and our connection
to a higher power vibrate and are held in the body. It would seem from a
logical perspective that these things reside in the head, or mind, but not in
the body. From an understanding of energy, it is the beauty of the physical
body which holds this information. We can learn to access the information and
change our mind about it. We can’t change the past, we can’t change what
happened in our lives, but we can change how we see and live it today. Our
bodies react to all emotion — happiness, joy, sadness, etc. It does not
discriminate like our minds do. Our bodies will give us signs for whatever
emotion we consciously or unconsciously experience from our past and it will
express that through itching, twitching, illness, fluttering, hair standing on
end, heart flutters, and so much more. In the world of energy medicine, one
reaction our body may have to pent up emotion is illness. One tool you can do
is learn to look at what emotions you may need to release. Many alternative
healing methods help us learn about our emotional state of mind, how to
identify its cause and how to release it. Most importantly in my work is not
only how to release it, but how to live a new way once you no longer react in
the old way or carry the old emotional baggage.

How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is
fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds
darkness not only in one's culture but within oneself? If there is a
stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when
one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a
life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of
contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once
life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great
pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a
worthy expression of leaning into the light.   XOXO D.

Talking Often Focuses on the Problem

Perhaps you’ve been feeling a bit down recently. Maybe you have
bleak days when it seems like you’ve lost your direction in life. You
might talk to a friend about it, detailing all the things you wish you
could do (if only you had the money, or the time, or the skills), and
endlessly dissecting everything that’s wrong in your life.

Talking about everything that’s wrong just reinforces your focus on things that aren’t currently working.
If you’re already in a bad mood, it’ll send you spiraling further and
further down. Have you ever had the experience of “working yourself
into a state” – feeling a bit anxious or angry about something, and
dwelling on it until the molehill becomes a mountain?

Talking May Mean Saying Something You Regret

When you’re in a bad mood, or feeling very fed up about something,
it’s easy to think that your state of mind represents your real
feelings about a job, relationship, or life situation. The truth is,
how you feel when in a bad mood is no more “real” or objective than the
way you feel when everything’s going swimmingly.

You may get frustrated when you talk about your problems because people just don’t seem to understand.
Perhaps they brush off the major issues as unimportant, and attend to
the minor ones; perhaps they offer advice when all you wanted was
someone to listen patiently. Maybe they’ve completely missed the point.  XOXO D.

Each of us has a purpose in life whether we're aware of what
that purpose is or not. Once you begin to make clear decisions about
discovering and understanding your mission and purpose and fulfilling that
purpose, and then follow through on your decisions by taking appropriate and
consistent action, your subconscious mind will start to “freak out”. Forms of
fear, doubt and worry will arise to hold you back and keep you where you are,
where there is "the known", the familiar, your comfort zone. This
“freak out” is a mechanism of your subconscious mind to keep you “safe”; it's
completely normal and par for the course, but these thoughts and beliefs do not
serve you and your purpose or the world because they often keep you from moving
forward. Recognize these limiting beliefs for what they are: false and designed
to maintain the status quo.

If you are feeling any resistance to moving forward, your limiting beliefs are
attempting to hold you back from stepping into the power and glory of WHO you
really are and what you're here to do. Until you can break free from these
beliefs, you will be using much of your energy to counteract those beliefs and
you'll never be completely open to allow Spirit to work through you. As a
result, life and work will always take hard work to succeed. Yet, when we
uncover and disarm these beliefs, the horizon opens up and the wind is at our
back making the road ahead much easier.  Try to uncover these limiting beliefs
(which often stand in stark contrast to what their conscious mind believes) and
either reconcile or eliminate them then replace them with beliefs that do
support their unlimited growth.  XOXO D.

Buddhism is one of the
major religions in the world. It began around 2,500 years ago in India when
Siddhartha Gautama discovered how to bring happiness into the world. He was
born around 566 BC, in the small kingdom of Kapilavastu. His father was King
Suddhodana and his mother was Queen Maya.
Soon after Prince
Siddhartha was born, the wise men predicted that he would become a Buddha. When
the king heard this, he was deeply disturbed, for he wanted his son to become a
mighty ruler. He told Queen Maya, "I will make life in the palace so
pleasant that our son will never want to leave."
At the age
of sixteen, Prince Siddhartha married a beautiful princess, Yasodhara. The king
built them three palaces, one for each season, and lavished them with luxuries.
They passed their days in enjoyment and never thought about life outside the
palace.
Shakyamuni
Buddha passed away around 486 BC at the age of eighty. Although he has left the
world, the spirit of his kindness and compassion remains. The Buddha realized
that that he was not the first to become a Buddha. "There have been many
Buddhas before me and will be many Buddhas in the future," The Buddha
recalled to his disciples. "All living beings have the Buddha nature and
can become Buddhas." For this reason, he taught the way to Buddhahood. The
two main goals of Buddhism are getting to know ourselves and learning the
Buddha's teachings. To know who we are, we need to understand that we have two
natures. One is called our ordinary nature, which is made up of
unpleasant feelings such as fear, anger, and jealousy.

Life is no bed of roses

For roses have thorns, you see,

But handling with care and balance

Will protect from injury.

All gardens have seasons of beauty

Where the flowers of our living grow

With colors and shapes aplenty

Sweet fragrance to bestow.

Life's flowers need careful tending

For all life needs sun and rain,

And Love and Faith unending

For Hope to flower again!  XOXO D,

There’s no such thing as an average person. An average person does not
exist. Each of us is unique and that uniqueness should be celebrated
and fostered. When average human characteristics are discussed, what
are being discussed are statistical measures that can’t really be
applied to an individual. How can you average character, bodies,
psychology, education, values, ethics, family, social situation,
lifestyle and other measures of what make up a person? You can’t.

We must embrace our uniqueness. And this includes understanding that
what we choose to learn and how we best learn are unique to us. To
acknowledge any less is to deny who you really are and the true nature
of your self. You are the only person on the planet with the qualities
you possess. It is only by fully embracing those qualities that you are
able to be truly happy.  XOXO D.

A
friend is a person with whom I may be sincere.  Before him I may think
aloud.  I am arrived at last in the presence of a man so real and
equal, that I may drop even those undermost garments of dissimulation,
courtesy, and second thought, which men never put off, and may deal
with him with the simplicity and wholeness with which one chemical atom
meets another.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is very important that you do not compare your actions to your
partner's or judge your partner's behavior as unskillful. Rather, focus
on your own actions and take responsibility for them. Recall those times
when you looked into your partner's eyes and saw the pain you caused
this person you love to suffer.

If you can admit your own faults, if you can see how hurtful your actions
were and tap into a sense of concern for your partner's well-being, then
compassion and loving-friendliness will flow.  XOXO D.
