PREZ is half of Los Angeles based Contemporary Gospel Duo - Renee Spearman and Prez. In September of 2008, Renee and Prez released their sophomore project on JDI Records entitled Dr. BOBBY JONES presents Renee Spearman and Prez - HE CHANGED ME. Debuted at 13 on BILLBOARD TOP GOSPEL ALBUMS Chart. Producers: MIKE BEREAL, James Roberson and Kenny Smith.
The debut Renee Spearman and Prez cd - "Celebrate" remained on BillBoard Top Gospel Albums Chart for more than 30 weeks in 2003. The concept video for the lead single "He Can Do Anything (Anything But Fail)" was seen weekly on The Word Network. "Celebrate" cd features guest lead vocal by Hidden Beach/Still Waters Recording Artist ONITSHA CHURCHGIRL on the song "My Savior". Check it out on iTunes. On January 4, 2009, PREZ recorded with his church choir - Bishop NOEL JONES and CITY OF REFUGE SANCTUARY CHOIR. Prez led the crowd pleaser "RAIN" written by PATRICK BOLTON. In August 2009, PREZ Blackmon auditioned for The BRIAN McKNIGHT Show. Prez Blackmon was selected to be featured in "BRIAN'S BIG BREAK" segment - where BRIAN McKNIGHT will give upcoming talent a national platform to share their talents and gifts with the world! Thanks Mr. McKnight!!!

Dr. BOBBY JONES presents RENEE SPEARMAN and PREZ - He Changed Me, JDI Records received THREE STELLAR AWARDS First Round Nominations - GROUP/DUO OF THE YEAR, CONTEMPORARY GROUP DUO OF THE YEAR, MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR!
October 9, 2009, the 25th Stellar Awards Second/Final Ballot was released to SAGMA members. Dr. Bobby Jones presents Renee Spearman and Prez secured TWO spots (Group/Duo of the Year and Music Video of the Year) on this coveted ballot. On October 29, 2009, a Press Conference was held for the 25th Stellar Awards in Nashville. On this day, Renee Spearman and Prez dream came true - as they secured their FIRST official Stellar Awards nomination for MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR!!!
My recording career began in the early 90's as a teenager. Renee Spearman was preparing her debut cd with her community choir - Prosperity Crusade Choir. One saturday night in 1993, Renee attended a JOHN P. KEE Concert at Academy Cathedral in Los Angeles, CA. The opening act for the concert was ERICA ATKINS (Campbell). I sang background for Erica, along with her sister TINA ATKINS (Campbell) and another friend Tori Jo Baker. During Erica's set, she let us background singers do our thing SOLO - Thanks Erica! Renee heard my voice and ask me to lead "Giving you the Love" on her 1994 cd - Renee Spearman and Prosperity Crusade Choir - Change The World and the rest is history!
This was my first live recording that was actually released! LOL! This cd also features the teenaged lead vocals of TINA ATKINS (Campbell) on the track "Let Him Make You Happy". My 1994 song "Giving You The Love" is on my MySpace Playlist. Check it out and hear Prez as a teenager do his thang! I was just getting started!
