In only a few years producer Prickly Pear has quickly developed into one of the few hip hop artists
who carries a accomplished resume and is followed with widely-held optimism about what he can
bring as one of the modern hip hop movement.
Now 25 years old Prickly Pear, was born and raised in Mannheim/Germany. He started in the
early 90..s to collect records from Funk, Soul, Afro, Rock, Jazz to Fusion. After a couple of years
later Prickly Pear begin to make mixtapes on M-Pire Records and started DJing on diffrent events
and jams. His first contact to beatmaking was his friendship to Jelly Jam (a member of Knightz of
bass and Funk mastermind). Prickly Pear has started with a Boss Dr - 303, a tapedeck and his
steady growin record collection. Around 2003-04 Prickly Pear & Friends create a Record label
who is called "Highsteppin Records". Prickly Pear instantly became one of the ambassadors.
He..s placed beats on projects by God Free, Kept See, Don D, We Move, The Coffee Shop with
Jinesis, Stockholmsyndromet, Craig G (Juice Crew). Prickly Pear has teamed with Grand Agent
who have a full length album "Gettin away with murders" shedule for release in early 2009 on
Soulspazm Records.
Prickly Pear is still growing as an artist, but that hip hop music as a genre still has room to grow.

Das Verbinden zweier Metalle schafft im Idealfall eine besondere Legierung, die das Basismaterial in ihren Eigenschaften aufwertet, z.B. ein Schwert härter macht. Beziehen wir das auf unsere schöne, neue HipHop-Welt, so kann man sagen, dass das Aufeinandertreffen von MASTA ACE (EMC/Brooklyn, New York) und EDO. G (Special Teamz/Boston) eine HipHop-Legierung darstellt, wie sie nicht besser sein könnte. Zwar sind die beiden Protagonisten des öfteren schon zusammen on tour gewesen, jedoch nie mit einem eigenen Album. Zwei Legenden, die es seit Jahrzehnten verstehen sich dem Basiselement "Rap" so anzunehmen, dass das Ergebnis immer wieder erfrischend, ehrlich und echt ist. Am 5. Dezember sind sie im Skaters Palace, Münster, zu Gast und präsentieren ihr Album "Arts and Entertainment". Support ist kein Geringerer als AKROBATIK (Perceptionists/Boston).
Im Jahre 2009 gibt es nur noch ganz wenige Bands oder Künstler die man noch nie gesehen hat. Werder auf den bekannten Online Portalen findet man Auftritte und das Kribbeln ist bei den Fans schon weit im Vorfeld zu spüren. Dazu gehören auf jeden Fall PETE ROCK & C.L. SMOOTH.
Rar haben die beiden Urgesteine aus NYC sich in den letzten 20 Jahren ihres Schaffens gemacht. Gemeinsame Auftritte suchte man vergebens und das trotz ihrer beiden Alltime Klassiker „Mecca & Soul Brothers“ und „The Main Ingredient“.
