Sonny Amsterdam, the ressurected version of Tupac Shakur, was born in the homicidal-driven ghetto of North Philadelphia, was raise by a mother who had no help from his father. With four other siblings, from different absent fathers, Sonny, truly was left with not that many options. Also, when you factor in a mother addicted to alcohol and crack cocaine, an older brother constantly doing prison time, and threes sisters with a wealth of barriers of their own. From the time he was 5 years old, he has been a victim to molestation, abuse, suicide attempts, boy’s homes, and homelessness. But, in the shadows patiently waiting was a savior who wouldn’t be revealed to Sonny until decades later. Any conversation with Sonny Amsterdam will arouse a heightened sense that there is more to him than whats on the surface and inspire the desire to experience this modern day “James Bond”. Sonny Amsterdam - his moniker alone appeals to the adventurer within us all. Whoever thinks that you can't “have the world in the palms of your hands,” has obviously not met Sonny. This 24 year old resident of Atlanta, Georgia is also a writer, actor, model, TV Host, and pop artist. His “James Bond” characteristics are embodied in the three facets of Sonny Amsterdam. The three elements that comprise this modern day “Super Man” are Las Vegaz Iceburg, Sonny Carmichael, and Francois Villon. Las Vegaz Iceburg is a pop lyrical pimp, who leaves nothing to chance, but is willing to bet it all for high stakes. This is also the character who ignites the transformation of Sonny's performances as a future Pop Star Icon. Sonny Carmichael illuminates the qualities of an determined human rights activist that is ready to become a martyr for the people. Francois Villon - the ingenious poet slash 14th century French theif who modern look on the society lies in his way of depicting the people of the streets, the wretchedness of their existence and he casts a very mocking, cynical and critical eye on the wealthy and the church. He show a lot of bittersweet irony and a great sensibility towards the miseries of humankind. His famous organization oh thieves are called the "Gang des Coquillards". Sonny Amsterdam, A rapper who grew up on the rough streets of Philadelphia, started his musical journey back in 2007. After overcoming a life of drugs and crime and been given a second chance at life, Sonny saw music as an avenue to motivate the lives of troubled individuals and bring awareness to everyday issues. Sonny, who is often compared to the emotional driven content of Tupac Shakur, describes his music as a eclectic mixture of all sounds in nature. He states his main purpose is to bring life to music that brings hope to the world. In 2009, Sonny crossed over to urban pop with his debut smash hit "Cybernetic Love". Despite the adversity, Sonny states, "I will continue to write and perform inspirational rap music." He currently has a Inspirational rap album titled "Invincible" which is gaining momentum after the release of his music video for "Welcome to My World" and his 2009 Stellar Award nomination for Best Hip Hop/Rap Album of the Year. In addition to being an explosive performer, songwriter, and arranger, Sonny Amsterdam, is also an actor. Sonny secured a major role in the upcoming film “The Forbidden Truth”. He is a runway model, public speaker, mentor, tutor, and philanthropist. Sonny is currently working on two projects. One is his mixtape "Swaggzilla" which he promises will be a groundbreaking moment in music . The other is his debut album titled "The Virus" that will be released in the spring of 2010. The evolution of Sonny Amsterdam continues as he exploits his talents as an artist and explores his passion as an actor. Sonny will be in the studio this spring recording his first retail album which will feature some notable names in music.
