Primal Digital, LLC

Bio:

Primal Digital, LLC was by created by Julian Lauzzana in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1998. Coincidentally, it was discovered later, very close to Tesla's famous workshop.

During the first two years of Primal Digital (1998-2000) the only band recorded was The Toxic Monkeys. Julian was working as a systems engineer at Viacom during this time and ran into the Toxic Monkeys wondering the streets of New York late one night. Primal Digital's work with The Toxic Monkeys culminated in a 2005 performance at BWAC (Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition). This duo can likely still be found if a paying gig was available in an art museum or outdoor music festival.

In the year 2000, Pd moved to DUMBO, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, for 5 years to operate in the "cave of creation" which was a two floor, 5,000 square foot warehouse space at 216 Plymouth street. This raw space was converted into a multimedia audio-visual production and creativity vortex, with a recording studio, video editing suite, art gallery and performance space. The projects you hear above (I-94, Room Service, Deep Fly, MantraMatic, etc.) are the result of various collaborations with amazing talent in the New York area and the fact that we had this creative vortex which drew the talent.

In 2005, the time had come to flee the barrage of high rise condos and the invasion of five dollar cappuccino lovers. We were asked to leave by the landlord, so Julian took the opportunity to move north to Vermont to immerse in graduate work - eventually leading to a Master's Degree in Organizational Management from The School for International Training.

Ten years later, Primal Digital global headquarters is in Portland, Oregon, USA. The current focus is on teaching film-making to kids, recording local music, running a local MicroCinema and promoting social, economic, environmental and organizational change ..by any means necessary...

New and ongoing collaboration exists with partners, studios and venues in Portland, Seattle, Detroit, New York, Australia, Italy and other parts of the world. As such, Primal Digital is a Global Project studio.

Pd is focused on the arts, sustainability, education and community development. Primal Digital is currently a sole proprietorship LLC owned and managed by Julian Lauzzana as an audio visual production company in Portland, Oregon, USA.
