Formed in the fall of 2006, Prime Minister Sinister was helmed of two long-term friends and proficient musicians, Luke Hamlin on the drum-kit, and Ruzbeh Mosaedi on the bass guitar. Rising from the ashes of the original Portland based 3 piece group Acrimon (Brian Jackson-guitars, Ruzbeh-bass, and Hamlin-drums), a progressive fusion-layered metal band defunct in 1995, Prime Minister Sinister picks up surprisingly after a decade later. But this time things wouldn't be the same. Many long-houred, sound expansive, song building, improvisational and Sheaf Stout and turkey burger-influenced band practices later, the group would build upon their original sound immensely. The duo found themselves creating something drastically obscure and new. Although showcasing two newly refined compositions of their previous material, songs affectionately christened "No. 2" and "No. 3," the band added a much deeper dimension to their collective, delving into broader musical ranges, incorporating eerie dark ambient passages, sarcastic disco bounce, old-world Persian minor tones, and brutal spine-shattering, neck-jerking funk that could clear out a "Earth, Wind, and Fire" concert. With songs, like "Steam-Shovel," "Blueberry Faggot," and "The Adventures of Shart and Gunt," the Portland music scene would experience something very different by the summer of 2007. Come with us now, kiddies and experience the corrupt executive branch of 'Prime Minister Sinister.'
