Prince Perry (co-founder Frankie Foo and the Yoyo Smugglers), was born on a small equatorial cacao farm. His influences as a child were the lonely ballads of lazy cacao farmers and their wives who strung catgut hoes for makeshift instruments. After stowing away on a Japanese fishing barge, Prince Perry sold bus transfers on the street until he hit it big shorting the Deutschmark in the early nineties.
Now a successful international entrepreneur, Prince Perry divides his time between playing with the Gladtones and branding small countries.
Brendan Bauer (Christian D and the Hangovers, The Midways) and his signature low-slung bass pay homage to the heavy rhythm's that influenced his musical development. Renowned for his lucky phone cord and ability to switch instruments at will, Brendan taps his magical bottom end to lay down the law for The Gladtones.
King Kong Girio has backed, bolstered and produced Canada's best ska for more years than it takes Perry to grow a beard. An original member of King Apparatus, Girio's long list of songwriting, production and mixing credits include artists Kirsten Jones, One Night Band, The Kingpins, Lo & The Magnetics, Emma Lee, Clara Engel, The Makeshift Hero's, I An Eye, Cheap Suits and The Planet Smashers.
Meher H.B. Steinberg (White Cowbell Oklahoma, King Apparatus) and Prince Perry have been scheming to play together since the age of 14. During that interval H.B. has passed the test and played with the best all of which he brings to The Gladtones.
Joel Cassady (Sound One) is a child prodigy. At the age of eleven Joel had become such a good drummer that Prince Perry had his heels insured for ten million dollars.
