A unique blend of dance music, funk, and a touch of prog...
Combining heavy elements of dance and electronic music with organic rock and funk undertones, PRISM looks to center their vast musical styles onto a singular path of flowing consciousness through their improvised explorations of musical time and space. Multi-layered, atmospheric keyboards and soaring guitar combine with a rhythm section that balances various electronic styles with heavy funk rock elements. The result is a genre-bending amalgamation that is both transcendentally fulfilling and logically captivating to its listeners. Building on the energy of their live shows, PRISM has quickly become one of the fastest growing electronica bands in the region. The band has completed two separate multi-month national tours through the Midwest and along the East Coast, and they've now played concerts in over 25 states. PRISM has played the Wakarusa Music Festival three times and they’ve shared the stage with many notable acts such as: Pretty Lights, Karl Denson, Steve Kimock, Zilla, Garaj Mahal, Lotus, Brothers Past, Chali 2na from Jurassic 5, The Motet, Pnuma Trio, EOTO, U-Melt, Future Rock, Boombox, The Macpodz, The Bridge, Phix and Soleside featuring Kyle Hollingsworth of The String Cheese Incident and Speech from Arrested Development. The band has also performed with both Grammy and Tony award winning artists such as Jeff Coffin (Bela Fleck & The Flecktones/Dave Matthews Band), Speech (Arrested Development) and the original members of the Broadway Musical STOMP.
