I was having trouble writing songs. I was overthinking it. Then, thanks to Joe Erg and Rich "Grover Kent" Conroy, I was introduced to the wonderful sounds of M.O.T.O. and the Hard-Ons, respectively. After hearing them, I decided to just not give a shit, and write whatever fun, silly, straight-up powerchord, poppish-punk songs came to mind. Who cares if it's a minute and a half? I decided to run with the "get in, get to the point, and get out" songwriting method, which essentially equals "verse, chorus, solo, chorus, out".
