If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is: Infinite. - William Blake Be the change you want to see in the world. - Ghandi Those who assume (often unconsciously) that it is impossible to achieve their life's desires - and, thus, that it is futile to fight for themselves - usually end up fighting for an ideal or cause instead. They may appear to engage in self-directed activity, but in reality they have accepted alienation from their desires as a way of life. - The Revolutionary Pleasure of Thinking For Yourself We are monkeys with money and guns. - Tom Waits

About me:

I try to live in the moment; the past is gone and the future isn't here yet. I try to be open-minded and to find the grey area in between the black and whites. A nonjudgmental attitude is vital. I love learning new things and always work on developing greater awareness of myself and my social and natural environment. I try to leave my comfort zone and not fear but embrace the unknown as much as possible. I work hard to stay true to myself and not be dependent on the approval of others and all that sort of thing. If you don't have a good handle on your own sense of self, nothing anyone else can give you, and no amount of wealth, power or status, can ever compensate. I hate the authoritarian mentality. The authoritarian projects his alienated creative potential onto fetishes and idols such as money, flags and magic men in the sky because he's as afraid of freedom as he is of self-awareness and having someone else to do his thinking for him in the name of his fetishes and idols relieves him of the burden of having to take responsibility for the consequences of his actions, socially speaking as well as in his personal life. He invests all the passion in the pursuit of wealth, power and status that he's incapable of investing in functional personal and social relationships and from his attitude you'd be forgiven for thinking that he thinks the truth of an idea is determined by the number of people who believe it. His idea of political freedom is choosing between right wing and far-right wing factions of the oligarchy at the ballot box and he won't let go of his national security blanket. He likes to blame minorities and people who don't fit his narrow and insular definition of what normal is for everything he hates about himself and he suspects anyone who disagrees with his blinkered worldview of being some sort of moral degenerate because his basic attitude to life is that if you're not for him you're against him. He likes to identify as a victim because that allows him to rationalise the sense of entitlement that enables him to pass judgment on and victimise others. He's an unthinking cog in authoritarian heirarchies and a willing pawn of empires. He's a great example of why the world is as fucked up as it is.
