First off thank you Chicagoland for 6 months of success at Mixtape Mondays at The Spoken Word Cafe. We are only as good as our client base and ya'll brought the talent, love and respect every Monday night. Right now we are currently looking for a new venue that shares a similar vision and is willing to give us more support. Jimilita Tillman who owns the Spoken Word is making it virtuously impossible to continue there. Again thank you for the support and we will keep you posted on a new night. Sincerely, AwoL from Oregano Recording Studio, JBILLZ, and your host Notrydo

The Chicago International Hip Hop Film Festival is dedicated to highlighting the work of hip hop filmmakers from Chicago and around the globe. We aim to showcase the diversity of visual works that capture, create, document, and give voice to various forms of hip hop culture.
Categories include narrative feature, narrative short, documentary feature, documentary short, and music video. Prizes will be awarded in all categories. Special programs include Hip Hop Chicago, which focuses on the work of Chicagoland filmmakers, and International Perspectives, which features visual hip-hop projects from various parts of the world. We are especially interested in featuring the work of up and coming filmmakers.
The two day-event will bring together hip hop filmmakers and musicians to celebrate the culture's contributions to the visual medium. Panels discussions, and networking sessions will also take place. (Plus they have a bar, so we're gonna have a great time!)
