Prockto is Sergio Maldonado. He was born in Morelia on April 1985. Sergio got interested on music at the age of 7 and he started to play the piano. Then he "changed" the music for the electronics and he made some experimental circuits learning by himself. When he was 16 years old he made a simple 10-step sequencer. This brought him back to the music when he started to create rhythmic sequences and combining them with others. The result was a "weird thing" because the media he used to mix that sounds (sometimes using the left side of a stereo tape to play a few sounds while the right side was playing others). Then he discovered a software program that makes all that sound mess in a "painless" way. Since that he started to play with his new "Toy" and to create the same weird things but now well organized.
In 2003 he got together with a very old friend from school (Abraham Pozos, a.k.a. Crossover), and they started to make a kind of weird trance. By July 2005 they joined another friend (Juan José Martinez, a.k.a. SonoraScratch) and formed Ananta Beat, a Psychedelic Trance Collective. The same year they founded Ananta Records, a record label based in Morelia city which now a days has local, national and international artists in its booking list. But what about all the Prockto's previous work and ideas, those experimental sounds... besides Ananta Beat, and as a result of many influences like Nine Inch Nails, Rob Dougan, Massive Attack, Marilyn Manson and Aphex Twin, Prockto started to produce the same weird "things" from his first experiments, but now mixed with dark atmospheres and distorted sounds, contrasting with melancholic pianos in the front and, sometimes, a few non-less-weird voices.
In 2008 he finished his first album "Nigtmares" (currently unreleased), featuring 18 tracks, going from ambient to industrial while keeping the experimental touch.
