About me:
I'm "The Professor," Jim Price, and I'm a live music junkie. If a live band or musician is playing around the area, I'm there to check it out. Music is my life...I play it on the radio, I go to see it live, I write about it, I support it!
I've been rocking on the radio for over 25 years, and recently joined up with Rocky 104.9, an Altoona area rock station. At present, I work part-time, and host the local music program "The Homegrown Rocker" every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM.
I write a column called "The Professor Speaks" for "Pennsylvania Musician" (www.pamusician.net), a regional music publication based near Harrisburg, PA. I write about music happenings in a six-county area including Blair, Cambria, Centre, Huntingdon, Bedford and Clearfield Counties in west-central PA. I've been writing for "Pennsylvania Musician" since June, 1987.
I also am a co-administrator and writer for Rockpage (www.rockpage.net) , a local music website based in Altoona, PA. I do weekly recaps of shows I see in the region, and also post occasional CD reviews, commentaries and other wanderings of my sick and demented mind.
And after years of using the name "The Professor" on the radio and in print, I am now a lecturer at Penn State Altoona, teaching news writing and reporting.
