An acclaimed musician, arranger, writer, educator and recording artist, Professor Wilbur Belton, Jr. is known for his extraordinary work with choirs and artists around the globe. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Professor Belton and Executive Producer Houston Brown, Jr., organized the LADWEC Music Ministry, LLC in 2004. In March 2005, Professor Belton and LADWEC Music Ministry released their debut project, “Come Bless His Name”.
Produced and arranged by Steven Ford, “Come Bless His Name” was a strong contender for the 2006 Stellar Award in the Traditional Group/Duo of the Year category and this choir was the recipient of the 2005 Gospel Award for “Best Traditional Choir,” “The Community Choir Award” and most recently, the 2007 EnSound Gospel Music Award for “Choir of the Year”. Still in constant rotation, the release received airplay across the world on many major gospel stations, to include Radio One and Clear Channel.
No stranger to the ministry of music, Professor Belton has worked with many gospel greats such as his nephew Tye Tribbett, Vickie Winans, Marvin Sapp, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Norman Hutchins, DeWayne Woods, LaShun Pace, and Tramaine Hawkins to name a few. His work in the gospel music industry does not end here. From Washington, D.C. to London, England, and numerous destinations in between, Professor Belton & LADWEC continue to minister the message of the cross through song. _____________ ONE OF MY TESTIMONIES: _____________ On 10-6-08 I was walking home and I was seriously beated and then robed but a gang of grown me. This happened around 7pm idk how I got home but when I did it was around 10pm I sat in the ER til 4am. Got a chipd tooth, had a concusion and a fat lip.
(and some memory lost) It was alot going on in the inside of me but thank God that on the outside I didnt look like what I went through
I still tell Him thank you...
But this is the weird thing this that God spoke and told me that He couldve let me died right there on the street.... and that He really didnt need me since I had made up in my mind that I wasnt going to preach.
But He kept me because He wanted to use me for His glory as His Prophet!!! And he felt some scars to remind me of what couldve been

Professor Belton, I just wanted to congratulate you on the magnificent job you have done with the completion of “Great & Mighty”. OMG… the songs, soloists, choir, musicians and the musical arrangements are overwhelming (especially for an aspiring musician like myself/ I have a long way to go). It’s truly an honor to have the opportunity to learn under your leadership.
Sometimes, we will never truly know how a person impacts our lives unless that individual takes the time and express the way that they miss feel. Professor, I thank you for blazing the trail for upcoming artists and musicians that desire to minister with the spirit of excellence!
