A stoned, paranoid philosopher with a quick tongue and a razor sharp wit.
Since cutting his teeth as a battle rapper and freestyle fiend in the NJ underground Hip Hop scene in the early part of the millennium, Professor M.E.A.T. has established himself as an emcee to be reckoned with. Thick with multisyllabic rhymes, witty wordplay, supernova slang, and stinging punchlines, the Prof serves rhymes reminiscent of the 90s New York Hip Hop he grew up with.
In 2007, after releasing a now-out-of-print EP, and a mixtape featuring his exponentially complex rhymes over some of the Garden State's most visionary underground producers, Prof MEAT became affiliated with Chirock Nation. He is presently working with Chirock emcee Ya-B and executive producer S.C.O.P.E. towards the completion of his much-anticipated debut LP.
In 2008, he studied poetry with controversial exiled NJ Poet Laureate and co-founder of the Black Arts Movement, Amiri Baraka, and performance with Bob Holman of the Bowery Poetry Project in NYC.
Now based out of Boulder, CO, M.E.A.T. elevates the East Coast rhyme skills to 5280 feet. He plays regularly in-and-around Boulder and Denver, has published lyrics in the Denver Voice, and delivers lectures and panels on Hip Hop culture and poetics.
