Movies
I'm a huge fan of film, so I'll keep this to my favourite 4 directors:
Tim Burton
Terry Gilliam
David Lynch
Russell Mulcahy (the man who made me do it!)
And mostly all things Disney.
Television
Greys Anatomy
Dr. Who
Torchwood
Robin Hood
House
Discovery Channel and VH1 Classic.
Books
Anything by Michael Moorcock
Tolkien
Fantasy
Otherwise its technical training books. Kinda geeky, yes, but I love my trade and I love to learn.
About me:
The proggrl is a video producer with k2video and currently creating on-line training material for a financial firm. I'm Final Cut Pro certified and am looking to get certified with DVD Studio Pro, at which time I will need to update my FCP certification. I'm also working on writing 2 scripts. One is a love story based on a classic tale and the other is more of a character development story. One of which I'm hoping will be done for next year's Sundance. Boring stuff, I know, but it keeps me out of trouble. *Liar!* OK, I still find time for trouble, but that's another story completely! :)
Also hugely into music, mostly listening but also playing from time to time. Playing include vocals, bass and guitar. Not in a band, but I do like jamming once in a while.
Yes, I know what you mean about diverse mix... I'm not so sure for them being so original, but hey! I like the band anyway! I tend to like Alternative/Pop, and not so much Prog so called, but Len is different... he likes pure prog!
So we are different, but it's OK, cause I'm always better than him(-;
I think you should get that pic framed some how...
Hi Krys! how are you??? Have you ever heard of the band called "The Republic Tigers"??? They are from Kansas City!!! ...and they are phenomenal! Check them out! They are on my top friends list(-;
Let me know what you think of them, since I know you love music so much!
TTYS!
Lynn
P.S. Do you like the picture? You guys look so sweet together! I sent one to Doug...
Thanks! I agree. It was great to meet them and tell them how much their music has meant to me. Wasn't that just the best set??? What were your faves? For me the TEIB is probably my fave. Winterthru was a real surprise too. What a great weekend. Do you ever come up to Atlanta to see any shows?
Fabulous!!! When are your trips? Please give Kera a hug from me...I have been so wrapped up in things with my Scottish significant other that I have lost touch with everyone at the JS board. I have to get back there soon; I miss it there!
I am so happy for you going to Scotland -- you will love it there as much as I did, I know it. I just wish you could smuggle me over and drop me off in Edinburgh, lol! :D
Thanks for the add from the UK's smallest psych/prog record label, Fruits de Mer Records.
Hope you and your friends enjoy our first single - Small Faces' classic Ogden's Nut Gone Flake + Van der Graaf Generator's Theme One, both reinterpreted by Schizo Fun Addict. Playing now at www. myspace. com/fdmer & www. myspace. com/fdmer2 (we're not sure why either, but feel free to compare & contrast!).
Views, reviews, spreading the word, even the odd order for our 7" coloured vinyl first-ever release (we've only pressed up 300 copies!)
How are you, Krys? I'm going to a big outdoor party today and tonight! Some local band will be there too, so it will be fun! Hope you are enjoying your weekend... it's very warm here!
