meeting new people, trying new things, weight lifting, cardio exercise, reading, community service, martial arts, non-European cultures (our country is EXTREMELY Eurocentric)
Music
hip hop, R&B, reggae, reggaeton, soca and world music mostly but I listen to a lil alternative and indie rock too
Movies
I've watched a helluva lot of films. Too many to name really, but I'll tell you that I've watched a lot of foreign films from the Middle East (mostly Iranian films), India (mostly Bollywood mixed in with other films I came across) and other parts of Asia (mostly Japanese films along with some Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese films and one film each from Bhutan and Taiwan), African films (which are hard to find in my area), and Latin American films (so far I've watched movies from Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, and a lot from Brazil), I also watch documentaries on the different film industries (Black, Latino, Asian American, and GLBT), social issues, and cultures, and I've watched a lot of African American, Latino, and Asian American films (mostly independent these days and some mainstream). Ask me for details on these if you really want to know which movies I've seen, but I gotta tell you: my lists are pretty damn long!
Television
Lil Bush, Next, CSI, Law and Order SVU and CI, Scrubs, So You Think You Can Dance, House M.D., Adult Swim, Drawn Together, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, We Got to Do Better (they need to bring that back!), Wick'd, Reggaeton Rush Hour, Soul of Africa, Musical Passport, Classic Caribbean Rhythms, Dating Factory, Unacceptable Behavior, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Chappelle's Show, Wild 'N Out
Books
No One Is Illegal, What the Buddha Taught, White Like Me: Reflections from a Privileged Son (a memoir by antiracist activist Tim Wise and a very revealing book too!), A People's History of the United States, A People's History of American Empire, Media Control: The Spectacular Achievements of Propaganda, Stuffed and Starved, Communities without Borders, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, Moral Politics: How Liberals and Conservatives Think, Sick Planet: Corporate Food and Medicine, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto, Skin Deep: How Race and Complexion Matter in the "Color-Blind" Era, It's the Little Things: Everyday Interactions That Annoy, Anger, and Divide the Races, Uprooting Racism: How White People Can Work for Racial Justice and other books on progressive issues.
Heroes
The humanitarian workers of the world, the activists of the world (famous or not), and the progressive organizations they give their time and energy to.

About me: I'm just your average college student. I was born and raised here in Naptown and now I'm lookin forward to gettin the hell out! I'm just here to meet new people and stay in touch w/ old friends and acquaintances. I've just recently realized that I have a passion for learning about cultures from around the world (particularly any non-European cultures which would include Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the Pacific Islands)and I plan to learn more about these cultures when I transfer out-of-state. I'm also interested in learning more about black/African American/Afro-American, Asian American, Chicano, and other cultural groups in the US and hopefully I can find a school where I can learn more about these cultures too. Hopefully, I'll also be able to experience these cultures first hand in the future... I've also started to become more interested in many social issues (which I take the progressive stance on). If you want to know more about that, then just ask! :D I'm also a very relaxed guy that enjoys chillaxin and not worrying about things like schedules and stuff, but I can get serious when I need to. I'm also a loyal friend and I will defend or speak up for them when the need arises. I hate liars and backstabbers though and I won't tolerate any of that bullshit (I've dealt w/it enough already)
I've doubted Zionism for quite a while now since it uses one atrocity to justify a number of atrocities committed by the Israeli government and military. More Jewish people are speaking out against it as well, as you can see w/ peace groups such as Code Pink. Don't believe me? Look up Code Pink and other such groups yourself...
It's a sad day for any country when a second country has to investigate the 1st country's abuses. That is EXACTLY what is happening between the U.S. and Spain.
Who I'd like to meet: Anybody who shares my interests, likes my profile, people who would like to (eventually) meet and be real friends and not just online friends (online friends are cool too ya know but nothing beats actually talking and interacting with people face to face), and, of course, positive people
too.
Hey... I was reading your profile... I'm currently in school now for sociak work. I live nyc/nj metro area... If you're looking for diversity and a chance to experience a mesh of cultures, then this area is SO for you...
Well...I've been good I guess. Some people have annoyed me with their choices, but I'm grateful for all God's blessings. I graduate from Massage School next month!
