Thanks for all the bulletins about voting Tuesday. That day has been on my calendar since 2007. I have not missed a voting opportunity since the first time I was eligible to vote in 1996.
I will be casting my votes Tuesday, so will my husband and in the near future, my son, who is eight years old and can't wait to vote!

As the mother of 2 U.S. Army soldiers and the aunt of another, with 7 Iraq tours of duty combined, I say we need to change the strategy and up the ante. I think we need to seriously petition the government to reinstate the draft. When the price goes up, people pay attention. It is easy to support the troops when it is someone else's son or daughter.
How much support will this war have when every American family is on the hot seat? If a majority of Congress and a majority of protesters bind together and seriously debate bringing back the draft maybe people will look at where their devotion lies--Why should so few pay the price for the many who say they support Bush and his war?

On August 16th at 11:00 AM, will be a Community Press Conference/action. This is a community-centered rally. If you can only make it to one of our actions during the course of this campaign, this is the one. We will be hearing from community, faith and labor leaders about why this campaign is so important. We need to show the press, contractors and building owners we're serious. Please help us increase the standard of living in Columbus by building a strong middle class.
