Lucidity is an ongoing project of Geoff Smith to create music in various different genres, using conceptual compositional techniques within varying computer programs.
Geoff started music production with Cubasis VST 3.0, manipulating various MIDI instruments with a minimal degree of satisfaction or success. Later, he moved to using Cubase SX 2 in conjunction with Reason 2.5 for a few years, which proved to be far more powerful, but still lacked many more complex touches he was after. Recently, Geoff took to Ableton Live!, and has been using it ever since.
Geoff also forms one half of catswithnofaces, an experimental electronica band who also formed ’Electro Night’ at the Staffordshire University Students Union in conjunction with Soundhacker.
Lucidity may play at an Electro Night in the future, but currently not enough material is in a state to play live, but work goes on. An Ableton Live! song in progress, Transport, has just been uploaded for you to aurally peruse.
