Providing information about STDs, HIV, and sexual health to American Indian and Alaska Native teens and young adults. We believe that young people need accurate information about sex and STDs to make responsible decisions. It is a choice that involves the mind, body, and spirit. Each decision is unique and the more KNOWLEDGE you gain, the more POWER you’ll have.
Sexual activity can put you or your partner at risk for infection or pregnancy. That’s why it’s important to know the facts, learn how to protect yourself and your partners, take responsibility for your health, and make decisions that are right for you.
STDs and HIV are more common than many of us think. We must start talking about these issues and “Stop the Silence” that exists in many of our communities.
Any teen or young adult who gets tested if they are sexually active and has the courage to openly communicate with their sexual partner(s). Elders who share their values and teachings with young people, to help them learn about sexuality, contraception, and reproductive health.

Project Red Talon was created to reduce the prevalence of STDs among American Indians and Alaska Natives in the Pacific Northwest. The project is part of the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, a collaboration of 43 NW American Indian Tribes dedicated to providing health-related research, surveillance, and training to improve the quality of life of member tribes and Indian people. The project is part of the NW Tribal Epidemiology Center (EpiCenter), and is located in Portland, Oregon.
This app can calculate the number of indirect (and direct) sexual partners you've had, going back 6 degrees of separation. It is not a diagnostic tool but does highlight how exposed you can be to STIs if you do not practice safe sex. If you are concerned about your sexual health visit your doctor, local clinic or one of the websites listed
Who I'd like to meet:
