About me:

..

Projects Abroad:

  • We are the leading volunteer organisation in the United States, UK and Europe, sending over 3,000 volunteers a year to 22 countries on 100 general placements.

  • We customize our placements to suit each individual. You get to choose where you go, for how long, when you want to leave and when you want to return.

  • We have full-time, paid and trained staff in every destination. They are available for general advice and help, and are contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Whether you're teaching in a school for the poor in Latin America, or helping in a hospital in India, your talents will be used to the full, working on projects where you are really needed. And you don't need an armful of qualifications.

  • By going on a Projects Abroad placement, you are joining a community of fellow volunteers and local people in developing countries - working hard, traveling and having a good time while achieving worthwhile goals.

Who I'd like to meet:

Projects Abroad welcomes anyone between the ages of 16-75 to apply for our programs. We love people who have a strong desire to travel, want to explore new cultures, learn about different societies, and expand their knowledge of the world.

For our younger volunteers, we arrange summer two-week specials that travel, live, and work together in groups. For those of you who can stay longer in-country, we provide all the tools for being successful in the cultures you immerse yourself in. Regardless if you stay two weeks or a year, Projects Abroad offers you the opportunity to experience changes within yourself while improving the lives of others.

I am planning to do the Law and Human Rights project in Ghana this summer for 2 months. Has anyone else participated in this particular program? I don't have many specific questions but would love to hear about your time there.

Thanks for the response and sorry it has taken me so long to respond - I'm actually on a trip overseas right now! I'm really interested in doing a language/community combo in Morocco.
I might actually go with Arabic, though, because I'm a French major, so I can get my French at school, whereas Arabic is hard to come by :] Thanks, again!

Wow! I was reading over your site and I am absolutely stunned!! I wasn't sure an organization like this existed till now. I love the fact that you're help goes beyond and expanding to international zones.
It looks like a great learning experience! I am looking into it :)

    Hey!
I'm REALLY interested in the Morocco location, especially as a French major. I was wondering, though, if I choose to do the French project, would I still be doing some community building/teaching, too? I really hope so - I think it would be an amazing opportunity to be able to volunteer as well as build my French language skills by staying with a French-speaking family.
    Thanks!

thank you for adding me. I am very interested in the program. I have been all around Europe, but that still leaves a lot of the world I have not seen. It would be wonderful to be a part of this! By the way, were you aware that Antartica is the only continent to never have seen a war? And the first person born there was in 1978! And it's really a dessert... just as little rain fall as the Sahara. I'm full of useless facts.
