I'm not sure we're really a "band", but contributing voices include Cari Golden, Taylor Dexter, Fino Roverato and Wally Wingert. Those are the ones still speaking to me, anyway.
Influences
Bob Rivers, Tom Lehrer, Ray Stevens, Weird Al, Spaff.com, PDQ Bach, to name a few.
Sounds Like
Pretty much all the overplayed shlock you've been hearing for the last several decades. We try to cover a variety of musical styles and eras—so no matter what your age or background, something here is guaranteed to offend you.
Would you like the idea of Bach done as a hoedown? Coldplay performing the “Chicken Dance” at a wedding? No, of course not. These are the regrettable ideas of Project Sisyphus—a deranged muscial creation from session keyboardist/producer Bob Emmet, who was looking for new ways to lose money between gigs. Featuring a growing assortment of singers (none ever seem to want to come back), the first CD, “Finding Emo” was completed in September of 2007. For reasons nobody can explain, the first single, “Me And You And A Dog Snafu” has been featured on Dr. Demento and debuted at 5 on Dave Tanny’s Dementia Top 20 podcast. Unfortunately, other releases are bound to follow.
The music consists of a mix of song parodies from oldies to newies, a smattering of originals, and a few badly-planned skits. And if that hasn’t rasied your personal terror level, hang on: the band is currently composing music for the upcoming skate-spectaular revue “Taliban On Ice.”
yo Bob!!! Thanks for checking it out and bein a friend! Hope you are good. Your stuff is always genius adn hilarious. What are you workin on these days? TD
Aside from having an obvious bias toward my son's perfomance on Emo Girl, I have to say that hearing Coldplay's version of the chicken dance is the one that will haunt my memory forever. I laughed out loud at that one. Really great job, you guys! I don't know what possessed you to do it, but nonetheless.....great job! ; )
I must shamefully admit to being a myspace "early adopter", and I can truly say that in all the years and countless wasted hours, I have never EVER enjoyed anyone's picture gallery as much as yours. I stand in awe. I stand in awe.
