"Servanthood requires that we become all things to all people we serve (1 Cor. 9:19-23). If some people think in ways different from ours, we must learn to think as they think. If some people respond to crisis and make decisions in ways different from ours, we must learn their crisis management style. Our goal must be to build up the unity and fellowship of the body of Christ. To achieve that goal, we must always consider others better than ourselves. Our role is to be that of a servant."

Excerpt from THE GUTTER - by Craig Gross from XXXChurch.com
"Jesus is willing to take risks by loving all the outcasts - the people others avoided. He's most effectively embraced by the hurting, broken, and pretty much jacked-up who gather around Him. He doesn't turn them off or repel them; He draws those who have emotional, physical, or spiritual needs. Jesus spends most of Hism time with the people, not with the Phararisees. He's in the streets, not in the synogogues. He goes to the gutter. Instead of demanding that the lost come to the place where religion was peddled, Jesus went to the gutter and found them. He learned things about them. He found things in commom wit them. He loved them"
In memory of Big Ed (01/20/62 - 08/12/04)
We Love you, we miss you and you will always be with us.
"People are often unreasonable and selfcentered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
For you see in the end, it's between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway."

Outreach was amazing last night. We had a group join us. For his birthday, Patrick brought out his friends to feed the homeless and we had some new volunteers. They provided a huge BBQ and sides for all. Toby BBQed ALL night. Athena Kline provided us with snacks that Karianne and Elle made goodie bags out of, for everyone to take with them for the week.
We had an amazing time of fellowship with everyone.
Please keep them all in prayer as they have been asked to move by the 31st of this month. Our goal is to stay in contact and wherever they go we will go.
I have finally been connecting with Charlie, one of our regulars. He has usually been in good contact with Health, however I got to hang out with him and hear a little about his life first hand. When we got there he was wearing a shirt with a big hole in it so he received about 6 new shirts. He told me about his travel thru Texas and Missouri and life being homeless when he was 12 years old. He took some of us on an adventure to where he sleeps, the place he calls home, and he loves it under that big oak tree. ~Karianne~
It sure was good to see our brother Charlie's smile again! After his recent heartbreak with Alicia,I didnt know if our brother would smile again? But as we pulled up,I saw him smiling from ear to ear,and I felt peace in my heart to see our bro glowing! It was all LOVE!At the end of the night as everyone was leaving Charlie went up to Patrick and wished him a happy b-day topped with a Hug!LOVE WINS! ~Heath~
This is Brother Michael Tinius AKA GREMLIN, "THE SAINT OF THE AMERICAN RIVER PARKWAY," with Sister Karriane Nordby. He left this world to be with Jesus on April 31, 2008. Brother Michael gave his life for a fellow homeless man, who was being chased by two men. When Michael stepped out of his camp to help his friend, he was stabbed to death. He was a CHAMPION FOR THE RIGHTS OF HUMANKIND AND THE WORD OF GOD WAS WRITTEN ON HIS HEART. WE LOVED YOU AND YOU WILL BE WRITTEN ON OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends." ~~John 15:12&13~~
About me: We are a ministry under the care of Jesus Christ, based in Sacramento, founded on compassion. Our mission is to give hope to the hopeless by showing them God’s love and providing them resources to become self sufficient. Our focus is to rebuild the shattered lives of the broken and help others believe in their ability to change their lives.
Project Sixty One is an inner-city and homeless outreach program geared towards those in the Del Paso Heights & Greater Sacramento area. Based upon Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.” Project Sixty One started in 2005 when a small group of individuals begun to have a strong burden for the Del Paso Heights community. We started going out on the block to simply love on people, listen to their stories, pray with them, buy them food, supply needs and give them Bibles. This is what we continue to do as we attempt to show the love of Jesus; a love that has no agenda.
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted;He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,to grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting so they will be called (K)oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,they will raise up the former devastations;
and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. ~~Isaiah 61:1-4~~

When you were nothing Not even a thought in the womb GOD loved you. As you walked through life blind Yes HE still loved you Even while you did everything You could to make someone not care Even then HE still loved you What ever your vises, and places In which you go to hide HE is there, because HE loves you Whatever it is, even if society has cast you down GOD still loves you Whether you’re broken, cold or lonely Penniless, HE loves you still the same HE loves you so much, that the word became flesh To be beaten, mocked, spat upon And die for YOU Sinless, blameless without blemish So that you may have life And have it more abundantly So it should be our reasonable duty To LIVE FOR HIM That gave so much for US And Loves in a perfect manner Regardless of what we do HE is still going to love YOU.
