About me:
Project X Theatre presents a special staged reading of Shakespeare's TITUS ANDRONICUS with a twist. Director Bill Fountain creates a new universe in this production of one of the Bard's most controversial plays: all the men's roles are played by women and vice-versa.

Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 8:00 PM
In the Project X Theatre Studio - 161 Riveredge, Dallas, 75207
$10.00 at the door

It’s a whole new world featuring some of Dallas’ most talented actors: Morgana Shaw, Carrie Bourne, Rhonda Boutte, Catherine DuBord, Desiree Fultz, David Lugo, Mary McElree, Daneille Pickard, Tricia Ponsford, Zac Ramsey, Maxey Whitehead, and Angela Owen. The full production launches in summer of 2009, but the October 18th reading will give audience members a preview of the amazing cast in action.

In addition to the staged reading, Mr. Fountain will also take the audience behind the scenes for a preview of the original concept art, sound design and other development pieces of this project. An engaging question and answer session with the actors follows.

The Mission of Project X: TheatreDanceMusicFilm is to revitalize the cultural landscape in North Texas by creating and presenting diverse art forms through innovative collaborations of theatre, dance, music and film and beyond.

Acclaimed actor and director Raphael Parry founded the organization in 2001 as a vehicle for experimentation and exploration in order to blur the boundaries between art disciplines and create immersive environments and experiences. The organization also creates opportunities for dialogue between artists, between artists and audiences, and among members of the larger community

Some of the events Project X Theatre has produced are:

X:24 - A Twenty-Four-Hour Playwriting Festival
Seven writers had 24 hours in which to write, cast, rehearse and present their new plays!
Texas Screen Gems:..screenings of short films and video projects by independent film makers from Texas or with Texas ties
Cocktails and Conversation with Laurie Anderson,
the renowned avant garde performance artist
(in collaboration with TITAS)
Various Voices,
an interarts exploration of war featuring Harold Pinter's short play, "Mountain Language"
"Fusion Caliente"
an evening of Flamenco-Jazz fusion featuring San Diego's Cerro Negro and Dallas' own Delilah
"Sabor Especial"
a cross-cultural celebration of spoken word and music featuring Will Richey and Friends and bands Faint Image and Tribe

Project X Theatre is currently housed in the historic South Side on Lamar building - the former Sears, Roebuck & Company Catalog Merchandise Center. Next year, Project X will move to The Green Zone, a new public arts venue being built in the Old Trinity and Design District.

Bongiorno. Io sono in Paris, ma io no parlo bene il francaise.

how's everything going? france is awesome, but my french class is awful. my italian class is much better -- i'm taking it in part to help with another course i'm taking, on the military, political, and artistic history of the Venetian Empire, and going to venice in a couple of weeks... May also be treking out to Verona (yes, I am that lame) with the girlfriend.

Any crazy dance stuff going on?

My new background! Yes! Love me some Jack Sparrow. As for a viewing party.I can only watch Johnny by myself.Any little distraction ruins it for me. Sitting in a theater all alone, watching Jack Sparrow, is as intimate as I will ever get with J.D.
It cannot be shared with anyone. Save my children and maybe John if he promises to be quiet.

That is indeed Jesse. He was my first 'fan' in Dallas. He had this t-shirt he'd wear to my shows. It said, '#1 Christie Vela fan". One time I asked him where he got it, and he said 'i found out back in the dumpster'. Always a compliment wrapped in an insult. I adore him.
This is one of the vampire shows at Teatro. John's new profile pic is too.
Like you couldn't tell.

Don't I look absolutely HORRIFYING? I had a molar that had cracked roots. Now just how the fuck that happens, I have no idea! But if it's a dental catastrophe, it's going to happen to ME! Drugs helps though. I highly recommend (emphasis in the "highly") Darvocette with a tequila back. Ooooooh! Pretty colors! ;-)

Thanks!! And abso-freakin'-lutely...definitely think of something to collaborate on. What do you have in mind? I have a viral play idea germinating where several people from different parts of the world participate. That's all I have now.

Great to hear from you!!!
