One day a traveling salesman sold Herb a pair of sticks that were made from Japanese Oak. He had never seen or played with anything quite like them.

Being a jazz drummer himself, he was blown away by the sound and feel that the sticks gave him. It was if they had become extensions of his arms! From that moment on Herb decided within himself, that EVERY drummer had to have a pair of these oak sticks in their arsenal.

After month's of searching, Herb finally tracked down the source in Japan and literally formed a partnership on the spot. To this day that partnership still exists on a hand shake!!

A long time has passed since Pro-Mark was founded in 1957 and we've made lots of progress since then. In 1997 Herb retired in order to live the good life. Herb's son Maury Brochstein became the new owner of Pro-Mark. Maury is paving new ground for Pro-Mark, much like his father did.

It is our constant vision and goal to be the best drumstick company possible, by way of quality products and quality people. We rely heavily on input from drummers such as you. Most of us at Pro-Mark are drummers so we understand and speak the same language that you do!
