Prometheus Rising. Formed in 2010 by a passionate metal fan, Prometheus Rising is one of the few Black Metal projects on the South Wales scene. Prometheus Rising has been a musical and lyrical release for sole member Carwyn Marshall, with themes often covering History, Misanthropy, Nature and Depression. Marshall has been writing songs and lyrics for many years but found his niche within Black Metal. After several attempts to form or join bands with other people, Marshall decided that the only way he would be able to get anywhere was to found a One Man project, due to his frustration with other people’s unreliability and reluctance. Working within no restraints (other than his own mind) the songs explore many different styles of Black Metal including Old School Black Metal, Second Wave Norwegian Style, DSBM, Atmospheric and Symphonic. The main philosophy with Prometheus Rising is to do whatever the hell he feels like, provided he enjoys the finished article. The release of the lo-fi debut EP ‘Gospels of Hate’ in February 2010 gained a reasonable following from Myspace and was available as a free release. It was followed up by the more focused sounding demo ‘Cruel Britannia’ in April 2010. After a long hiatus from the Metal scene to focus on personal issues, Prometheus Rising is back with the debut album ‘The Embrace of Night’ which features a varied mixture of Black Metal spanning from Old School ‘90s style, Modern Black Metal, Atmospheric Instrumentals and extremely lo-fi DSBM inspired Black Metal, with plans already being put in motion for a new EP (to be released Winter 2012).

Many, many fagatronic emo bands that I listen to while writing this stuff to avoid contamination with other black metal songs. Thank you for your cringeworthy 'music' that allows me to be as brutal as I can.
