Promissory Note is made up of guitarist/singer Jonathan Hirschauer a drummer/singer Mitch Trotter and a Bass guitar/singer Spence Howard. Promissory Note was formed from the remains of four other projects that included several mutual friends of ours. Jonathan uses a Dean DA-20 acoustic amp; and for electric purposes, a Roland Cube 60, with a Digitech Grunge pedal and a Dunlop 535Q Wah pedal, sweetened with Fasel. His guitars include two acoustics (a Dean Tradition and a Dean Tucson) and a Fender Mexican Fat Stratocaster. Mitch uses a Ludwig 5 piece drum kit with Remo heads, a pair of Paiste 4o4 Medium High-Hats (14"), a Sabian B8 Medium Crash (16"), a Paiste 4o4 Ride (20"), a Pearl double bass pedal, and Vic Firth or Zildjian drumsticks. Spence uses a Carvin custom bass guitar with a crate 160 watt amp and a bass pod. For recording, we use a Boss BR-600, and Audacity software to mix our music. Our microphones include a Shure SM57, an Audio-Technica ATR 20, and an Optimus Uni-Directional Dynamic. For vocal amplification, we use an Optimus Karaoke Recording/Playback unit. We appreciate any feedback, and hope you enjoy our music! Check back often, as we cycle the songs regulary as they are edited. If you like one, feel free to download it, because it might be gone a few days later!
hey just dropin by to say hi. How is it going? Haven't talked to you in ages. Your music has developed alot. We haven't done anything in ages man. I am just writing stuff but no recording yet so. Any way wats new?
hey dude how is it going man. long time haven't talk to ya guys anyway. YOur new music sounds great man. well abt my band its just me now. our member left the country so and i've been doing some other things so yea so i haven't been able to contact you and stuff. Any way tell me what are u guys doing now.
YEAS! it's true! The Hong Kong Connection's new hit song is up on myspace! ESTER! this epic punk-song features lyrics straight from the streets of Finland. This is the truth, it can't get anymore real than this! ENJOY! ...and of course The Jackmeister and Von Arsel have brought with them a whole ensemble of backup-singers and carva mahha on drums and vocals!
yeah, i heard. Bass soon, hopefully? Any way, i'm doin' some more recording of my own. Its sound pretty sweet, it just takes forever to get everything dialed in just right with that stuff, especialy mic'ing all the drums.
Anytime. And of course. I'd love to tell you how you did once you have a recording with lyrics up! Especially if you told a couple people about my music, but I'll crit your stuff anyway.
Anyway, I'd also like to point out that I used to have the exact opposite problem as you. I could write really good lyrics but I couldn't play music very well, so my songs ended up way too simple. You already have the ground and walls of your songs, you just need a little furniture. I had a lot of furniture and no house to put it in, if you know what I mean. So, you're not lucky, but you're relatively fortunate to have the issue you do, because it's easy to fix.
Good luck with everything, and keep me posted with your music.
oh sweet man..that's cool..now all you have to do is pic the best one. I would say jamm with each of the them seperatly and see who is better and how he relates to your band. And that might be the one :p
thanks. :] I always appreciate it when someone makes an effort to listen to my stuff.
Yes, you can get 5 songs by adding Bodog Entertainment to your friends list. They accept you immediately. That's how I got 5 songs.
Well, I'm going to give you some unsolicited (but probably helpful) advice since I'm extremely bored at the moment and since I like your current music. From personal experience I know that it can be difficult writing a song that you're satisfied with from the start if you're just beginning to write songs. In actuality, it can be extremely frustrating. (Because unless you are a natural Hemingway, you might doubt yourself for a while.) Most writers do. I didn't consider myself a true writer until I was writing songs, poems, and screenplays for 3-4 years. It takes a long time to really get the hang of it, but once you're a writer, you're a writer for life. It becomes your most honest form of expression. Some writers feel dead when they haven't been writing, and some say that their times with writer's block are like withdrawl from a drug. Anyway, my point is that, there are a lot of advantages (and disadvantages) to starting to write songs but overall it's well worth your time, even though it'll take a while to get it off the ground, once you do, if you're really dedicated, you'll soar.
yes. i was searching the forums for how to get 5 songs rather than 4 and I saw your old thread, clicked on the link and thought the instrumentals were pretty good.
lol its all good. we'll atleast your the talented person in the school rest of them are not. Its no big deal bro :P Well infact we're the only band who started of. peace
aight man i will keep in touch. Yea i'll tell you when i will put my stuff cool man.. You've got any friends who has stuff like yours so that i can listen to ?
