   About ProMusicU

ProMusicU is an intensive weekend of courses and workshops for aspiring artists and music business professionals. Our instructors are committed educators with years of experience in their field, and our advisory board includes university professors, hit songwriters, music publishers and representatives of performing rights organizations and record labels.

Our program provides a comprehensive introduction to the nuts-and-bolts realities of a musical career, offering instruction, inspiration, and guidance to creative artists. From our Nashville base, ProMusicU will travel to locations across the country to offer full-day and multi-day seminars encompassing music business, songwriting and the creative process, musicianship, and performance. Classes will take place simultaneously along each track, and attendees will choose from the list of courses when they register.

We have begun recruiting an Advisory Board of industry professionals to oversee and help us guide the program. At present our board includes such prominent figures as Dr. Geoff Hull, founder of the Recording Industry Program at Middle Tennessee State University; Chris Haseleu, Department Chair of the Recording Industry Program at Middle Tennessee State University; Dr. Tom Hutchison, professor of marketing and Music Business Coordinator for the Recording Industry Program at MTSU; Andy Ellis, a veteran music journalist and a regular contributor to magazines like Guitar Player, Guitar World and Acoustic Guitar; and Ralph Murphy, vice-president of ASCAP Nashville and a hit songwriter; with many more prominent music professionals to come.
