Prophecy was born in Hollywood, CA and raised in Pacoima. From the tender age of 5, she possessed a passion for music. At the age of 10, this passion was met with an outlet for expression when her older sister Marlini received a double tape-deck boombox with a microphone for her birthday. Marlini the mastermind behind the operation, was the self-taught engineer and began recording Prophecy singing her favorite songs resulting in tapes with customized labels and cases. Prophecy enjoyed the recording process and everday after school she would rush home to record another song in her sister's homemade studio/bedroom. This love for music grew more each day and at the age of 13 she began rapping. She began writing songs and continued recording throughout her teenage years and what started out as a childhood hobby soon turned into making music professionally. She began recording in real studios and collaborating with other artists. Prophecy became the first female on an independent record label. Soon after she was invited by the CEO of a record label to go on the E-40 tour. She readily accepted the invitation, packed her bags, and set off to go on her first tour. While on tour she traveled to Redding CA, Portland OR, Medford OR, Bend OR, Seattle WA, Boise ID, Phoenix AZ, and Las Vegas NV. Prophecy is a firm believer that her talent and ability to create original music is truly a gift from God. Prophecys biggest inspiration is Nas. She strives to lace her songs with lyrics about the hood, political issues, life, love, and still include a conscious and positive message. Prophecy has rocked shows at Hogshead, 24th & K, and the Marriott Hotel in Sacramento. Most recently she blessed the mic at Miyagi's on Sunset Blvd and the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood.
