Snuffy ras aka dj lava ras real name Jawan Thomas owner of (Prophecy Sound) born (AUGUST 5) has been a selector since the age of 7 playing music at his uncle's house in Devonshire every weekend where they held dances for people in the hood , he was over there hanging with the older guys who used to chat on the mic. By being over there he was learning the style of reggae music with the likes of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Hugh Mandell, Tenon Saw, Nitty Gritty, Yellow Man and Super Cat just to name a few.
At the age of 12 he started his own sound named (Tender Touch) with two friends in the hood, they started to play at Primary School dances all over the island as well as having a good sound system and plenty of records to back them. As the older sounds always wanted to clash dem but they were too young to play at older venues, so one of the sounds came to clash them at the venue where they played at and it was at that dance that people started to really rate snuffy as he used his skills that he had learned from his uncle's house. Dj Lava buried the other sound with his music and chat on the mic, the other sound was so surprised that they never played again knowing that they picked on a young sound and got buried soon after that they just played on dance after dance until late high school years where all the guys went there separate ways. Snuffy than just played around the hood until some friends from the hood got serious and wanted to join a sound, that is when Prophecy Sound was formed in 1994.
Snuffy's role in the sound than went to just mic's man as others selected and mixed on the tables, than after a few years all the members fell apart and Dj Lava decided to be mic's man and select the tables on his own. This is when luffy came into the sound as engineer and its been goin like that ever since. Snuffy has been able to take (Prophecy Sound) to the next level, his vast knowledge of reggae music, hip hop, R&B, soca and different genres of music has made (Prophecy Sound) into the most versatile sound in Bermuda. His deep knowledge of foundation reggae has made him very dangerous and can mash up any dance at anytime and believes himself to be the dancehall teacher. Snuffy's goal is to take the sound to every aspect of the sound system arena and all four corners of the earth. Don't be fooled by his apperance and humble ways Snuffy is a force to be reckoned with and is a threat to all sound systems and has no sound system conscience and will be lookin to destroy all sounds that oppose him, he has no compassion for foolish sound boy's so dont take him lightly.

Prophecy sound was formed in the early ninties in bermuda by a group of friends from the Devonshire area , soon after that prophecy sound played its first dance at the Devonshire Rec Club where it still plays there up to this date. Prophecys first dance was ram out,road block and got a big response from the people that they didn't even want to leave the dance as they were full of sweat, happiness and joy with the new sound on the block, soon after that prophecy started to spread its wings and play at various venues all over the island (Wednesday, Thrusday, Friday,Saturdays and Sunday nites) @ Devonshire Rec , Spinning Wheel , Under Ground (an after party place) Clay House and Bailey's Bay Clubs. Prophecy sound is full of energy and talent as its style is full of versatility playing culture dances,dancehall dances, clash dances , party's,old school dances,teen dances,weddings and more. Prophecy sound plays reggae, reggaeton, r&b, hip hop, soca, motown and many more for whatever the occassion. Prophecy sound began playing vynl & 7 inch before going into cd's a lot of sounds now days don't know about those days carrying and logging big crates of records and a sound system around. Prophecy has matured in the business and is still goin strong. Prophecy has played with sounds from Jamaica and USA and has played as well as playing in those countries. Prophecy sound is looking towards playing in foreign more often.
