Primary music influence was Lauryn Hill. Also influenced by nearly all of the Gospel/Christian/Positive Rap & Spoken Word artists.
Other influences as I grew up included MC Hammer, Outkast, Will Smith, Bone, Kris Kross, Tupac, Des'ree, Michael Jackson, Rage Against the Machine, Busta Rhymes, and the list goes on.
After changing to gospel music, I like Tonex, Deitrick Hadden, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, The Winans (all generations) Bebe and Cece, Gospel Gangstas, B.B. Jay, and many more.
Kelvin Broadus (Prophesizer): raised in middle GA, has been highly artistic for all of his life. He first started writing back in the days of Kid N Play and MC Hammer. He's been in various groups and been offered a bit of record deals, but remains independent until the right one comes. He's performed in various talent shows with poetry and rap, and released his first CD (available FREE at www.kelvinbroadus.com) titled "I Had To Do It" under his DBA indie label Artistry At It's Finest. This CD contains songs written mostly during his high school years, with a few new and demonstrates what was hidden over the years. As the title states, this collection had to be released before going into new more indepth projects, and is sure to be a treasured classic of hiphop excellence that fans will enjoy forever.
In addition to music, KNB is also a gifted actor and speaker. He has appeared as an extra in the hit movie "ATL", but has been acting seriously since high school. Since then he's lended his talents to local plays and improv performances. He is currently producing commercials, comedy work under his improv group Satirated (samples below from www.youtube.com/satirated), and short film work.
His other work includes various guest speaking engagments for churches, Civil Rights activism, and business presentations. But, as far as music is concerned, this is only the beginning for this upcoming artist. Just as his theme states, he's "trying to change the world with this music"; so stay tuned because he is destined for great success.
