My name is King David A.K.A. Dady-d the Prophet. I was born in east Kingston Jamaica Franklintown. I have always had a very strong love for music. My father sang and played guitar for plenty of bands in his life time which in return gave me a strong passion for it as well.
Growing up in the ghetto, things were not easy for my parents and me. My parents had to work extremely hard to maintain the basic everyday needs to survive. By realizing this I knew I had to do something to help. Attending school on a daily basic, I use to past arrows a music studio that got my attention.
This particular studio was like no other because it would only cater to a variety of DJ”s and reggae artistes. Some of which were well known artistes, and some of them were upcoming artistes. I was inspired by various artists as well as the environment that I use to live in Jamaica. Some of the artistes that inspire me are: Bob Marley, Twyce, Capletan, Sizzla, Buju Bantan .Spragga Benz, Notorious B.I.G, 2 Pac, Bone Thugs and Snoop Dogg.
I migrated to Canada on April 3, 1999. When I arrived into Canada I resided in Toronto. Since then I have been living in Toronto for over 10 years. While living in Toronto I decided to attend High School to earn my High School Diploma. I had a lot of fun at school, because some of my friends from the same community where I was living attend too. After School, we would get together and free style for 3 to 4 hours everyday for one whole year. Then we came together one day and decided to take this to another level, so we formed a group called 8 Killaz. After a while we changed the name of the group to the “sons of the most high”. Our group consisted of four members, Malahci, Juda, Shatta, and Dady-d. We went on to perform at clubs, talent shows and many other functions all over Canada.
In 2006 I decided to pursue a solo career. Before doing so, I decided to discuss it with the group to let them know what I was thinking. The group said they had no problem with it and wish the best for me. So I started to work on my solo career. My first album was called “real recognize real”. After I finish with my first album I started working on my second album (Psalm 23 the return). After finishing that album, I continued to make music on a day by day basic from then till now. I have over ten albums that are ready to be released. Right now I have my own recording studio called Original Soul Sound, were I create my beats and record my music. I make rap music, R&B soul music and all so conscious reggae music. I am a very versatile and independent artist who started from nothing to something and I won’t stop even when I make it on top.
