Prophets Rose began in the early nineties in the Merseyside mining town of St Helens. Gaz & Dave met through working together in the biggest sinkhole of the town.
Through a mutual love of rock music, Gaz having a lot of previous live experience and Dave for the buzz, they decided to form a band, Prophets Rose. The song writing partnership of Gaz and Dave soon produced 'The Prophecy' a three track demo recorded at The Ranch studios, Liverpool.
The demo soon became a popular soundtrack to Friday Rock nights in their hometown and was regularly played on local radio.
A lot of small local gigs were played which built up a popular following but the fame they sought seemed always tantalisingly out of reach. The music was to sit on the backburner and as time is impatient and unkind, the two guys remained close friends but got on with their lives. For Gaz the flame still burned and when My Space arrived it rekindled his dream of bringing Prophet's Rose to a new audience.
Gaz and Dave are currently finishing work on two new studio albums 'Paranor' (currently previewed on this page) and 'Beyond the Edge of Time'
Dave is also credited with the novel 'A Comedy of Terrors' and a compilation of poetry entitled 'Visions of the Rainbow'
Gaz has also co-written 'Under a dreaming moon' with Dave which awaits publication and is currently writing a new novel.
PROPHETS ROSE have announced that they are to re -form !!!!!
The new studio album 'PARANOR' will be available through this site late 2008 - early 2009 will live dates and venues to be announced soon after.

Hey Gaz...finally nice to meet ya....yes I love what you guys do....the acoustic stuff really knocks me over when I hear you guys do that....and I've already told Dave what great lyrics he has...deep as in old and far away like in the days that made horses hoofs thunder, and wisps of sheerlike gossemer on ladies veils....riding side saddle through forests of high trees and glades of high grasses...where chivalry was born and swords were your protection....wow I just got all that in one minute...but that's how your music makes me feel....
Forgive the lyricist in me...she came out to wander with your music....thanks for the update on who is who....nice to know alittle more....

Hello... Sorry I haven't responded lately, things have been kinda crazy. Yes, Holy Diver :] I love that song. You guys are back on my playlist too :] So how is everything across the pond? Hey thanks alot. The recordings leave alot to be desired (1 pound mic from Poundland!) but I think we have some decent acoustic stuff going on). Only in college etc I believe, so hopefully get her singing alot more around the city now! Just need to start getting some gigs going on!
