"A Worthy Seed" - live at SXSW in Austin, TX - March 2007
HARP Magazine - "...psychotically talented multi-instrumentalist Eric Woodruff parlays his space-rock past into a psych-folk/roots-pop future....Woodruff invests the record with the raw passion and restrained power of a Sunday-morning-after-Saturday-night barn jam between Ryan Adams, Billy Corgan, and My Morning Jacket."
All Music Guide - "Prosser is the work of basically one man named Eric Woodruff. But he certainly can do a lot on his own."
NPR - "Like Neil Young after Trans, Prosser's self-titled debut is a collection of songs from a man who's been outside the stratosphere, but has made a triumphant return to good ol' American pop-rock."
Usounds - "Part Bill Callahan (Smog), part Edward Droste (Grizzly Bear) and part David Berman (Silver Jews), Eric Woodruff surprises here with such a veteran performance. Prosser crafts an undeniably good, and American in the Neil Young way, debut album. I’ll be watching this band to see what they do next, on the off chance that it could possibly be any better than this solid set of 14 songs."
Music-Reviewer.com
- "...somewhere between Ryan Adams and Elliott Smith with just a small hint of the Shins thrown in....another really solid, promising and extremely catchy release from a Pacific Northwest artist. Highly recommended."
Three Imaginary Girls - "Woodruff is a rarity in today’s music: a musician who can transition well between tempos and moods on the same album without it sounding contrived or uniform...it's an album that delivers as much in the moment as it promises in the future."
Amplifier Magazine - "...Woodruff succeeds by writing absolutely gorgeous, heartrending melodies and weaving them into songs that equally display their indie rock and roots pop elements"
West Coast Performer Magazine - "Woodruff’s folksy, parched vocals feel cozy against the lush instrumentation of the album, with engaging, moody breakdowns and atmospheric Wilco-esque pop elements…his background adds a new element: the introspective ebbing and flowing guitar lines that are the hallmark of good shoegaze and psychedelia."
Babble and Beat - "...completely irresistible. Every single song on this release was lovingly crafted & performed with a tremendous amount of heart, soul, and talent…and might as well come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. A very strong & lovely debut; we highly recommend it!"
ReDefine Magazine - "The medium between lo-fi charm and highly polished studio recordings is basically perfected here....Woodruff's ability to seamlessly blend folk, country, and psychedelic influences to create modern indie rock is something to be watched."
The Tripwire - "Woodruff plays all of the instruments on the entire album (except cello), making it a clear labor of love. The blood, sweat and tears he poured into Prosser shine through and create a cohesive, emotional and dynamic 14-song offering..."
City Link - "Shoegazers and wounded romantics will appreciate Woodruff's dedication to heartbreak, and fans of atmospheric roots pop will revel in the well-crafted songs and moonlit feel"
Pop Culture Press - "It’s surprising to hear songs that are so complete and intact in a debut album..."
Daily Free Press - "Taking a cue from Sebadoh frontman Lou Barlow, Prosser succeeds in making the melancholy beautiful. Entrancing and hypnotic..."
The Wig Fits All Heads -
"How one man, Eric Woodruff (with a little help from his friends), can inspire the craving to set out across Eastern Washington in a dented old Mustang with fraying upholstery is beyond me. You might have a slightly different vision, but the desire will be the same."
Out There Monthly - "Multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Eric Woodruff will be hard to ignore. In his best vocal moments, he is a woodsier Elliott Smith....undoubtedly a Northwest diamond in the rough."
TampaBay.com - "… currently one of the coolest talents of the year. Reminds us of Wilco, before they started thinking too much."
Prosser is currently thinking about starting and/or finishing the next batch of recordings of songs, many of which do indeed exist, and ultimately making them available somehow to the listening public (if such a thing is still out there).

so I watched the first episode of the wire...I am intrigued I think, but I'm not sure its what we're looking for if we plan on marathon tv watching. the beer might not mix well with the plot comprehension. we'll see.
