Gracie, the beautiful greyhound at the top of the page, is smiling because she was one of the lucky ones. When she retired from racing at the age of two, she made it out of the system with no serious injuries. And, she found not just one, but two loving families who adored her.
NOT ALL GREYHOUNDS ARE THIS LUCKY.
Each year, thousands of dogs are seriously injured while racing, and thousands more are killed when they can no longer compete.
At commercial racetracks nationwide, thousands of dogs are confined for 20 or more hours per day in cages barely large enough for them to stand up or turn around.
Dogs play an important role in our lives, and deserve to be protected from individuals and industries that would do them harm.

In 1992, Christine was struck by two above-ground trains while walking her dog Kelsey in Boston. At the last possible moment, Kelsey pulled Christine out of the direct path of the oncoming trains. Christine was badly injured, but Kelseys heroic action likely saved her life. ...

Fifteen years ago, when I first learned about what was happening to dogs at the Wonderland dog track, I knew something had to be done. It is wonderful to play a part in ending this cruelty not just in Massachusetts by all across the states!
Congrats! Much effort and hard work motivated by passion always pays off, not always immediately but eventually. You made a difference and that's what each and everyone of us should have as an objective in life, to make a difference and you guys sure did. God bless you for your love for life and our animals. You really did put an end to cruelty to the greyhounds as I've witnessed it first hand. Keep up the marvelous work that you have been doing.
FINALLY!!! I fought for this for a long time when I lived in Massachusetts. I live in Maine now and am so sad that I couldn't take part in this, but I am SO excited tonight! Thank you for all you do!
Your help is needed for the homeless animals of Philadelphia. On Saturday, October 25, I will participate in the PAWS Mutt Strut, which will bring 1,000 animal lovers and their pets together for a 1.5-mile walk through FDR Park. We will raise badly needed funds for PAWS’ lifesaving programs including adoption outreach, spay/neuter clinics, and low-cost vaccination services. We will also raise awareness of the harsh reality that thousands of healthy and treatable animals are killed in Philadelphia each year, simply because they do not have homes. The Mutt Strut will offer us a day of companionship and celebration, and will enable PAWS to give countless more animals the chance to experience that companionship and safety for themselves. Please give whatever you can, and consider joining me on October 25! Every "dollar" helps! Donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE WWW. FIRSTGIVING. COM/PAWSVOLUNTEER
PLEASE SIGN PETITION TO BOYCOTT FL RADIO SHOW PROMOTING BSL AND ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!!!
Any Hatred Toward People or Animals Is a Fine Line.
On September 8th, 2008, The Cowhead Show caused an outrage when promoting B.S.L.. Cowhead was promoting animal cruelty to his public. This will not be tolerated! while it was said by one person that the teeth should be removed, they claim it was a joke. He also stated Pit bulls are an abomination from hell, and they should never exist in the first place. On that monday, Cowhead also stated you will never hear of a pit saving a child, they terrorize instead. He is miss informing the public and we are afraid this is going to contribute to a rise in animal abuse, especially for pits.
I do so hope that you win the battle this November. In either case of the outcome I would have to make a miner revision in one of the chapters in a book I'm working on wherein it reveals some of the cruelty put upon these beautiful creatures and I commend the efforts of your organization. I'll be watching for the outcome. Good luck this November and God bless.
