Protection's become a favorite receiving radio airplay from LA's Mark Sovel/Check One Two, Steve Jones/Jonesys Jukebox, Indie 103, Rodney Bingenheimer On The Roq of the World Famous KROQ , SF's Live 105, Energy 92.7, Thump Radio, Samurai Radio & live on MUSICPLUSTV.COM/KXLU LA. A supremely unique Indie/electroclash trio based out of San Francisco and Los Angeles formed in 2004 with members Rene the Hypist Perez, Meikee Magnetic & Sunevil. Once Children Ov Paradise, they leaped to Japan being exposed to the electronic club scene that would forever have an impression on them and creating what we now know as Protection with musical cutting edge sounds like none other. It has been described as an Electro-Synth-Indie montage with the feeling of Fischerspooner, LCD Soundsystem, Primal Scream, & Bowie. They not only make high-powered music but put on shows filled with non-stop energy, outrageous fashion and style that is sure to get the most subdued crowds moving. They have performed with the likes of Janes Addiction, Peaches, Tommy Lee, Larry T, DJ Keoki, Sandra Collins, DJ Tsuyoshi, Aphex Twin, Tiga, The Pharcyde and Gus Gus. Played at the Base of Mt. Fuji, WMC Miami, Tokyo TV & headlined most major Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo clubs. In addition, their songs grace the airwaves of MTV in the U.S., Japan, and Europe, and they have been featured in a music documentary on BBC London. Collaborations include works with DJ Tsuyoshi (Japans top DJ), Puma, MTV, Sony, and the movie Indian Cowboy. Protection's star is just starting to rise & have an EP w/ L.A. indie label So Sweet Records. Returning soon to their anxiously awaiting fanbase in the Tokyo.
