My number one interest is reading. My favorite authors are, Stephen King of course, Jack Ketchum, the late great Richard Laymon, Ed Lee, Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon, Joe Hill,and others. I must also admit that I am a fan of some chick lit. Kay Hooper (who writes a series of books about investigations of serial murders by a psychic FBI team),Mary Janice Davidson (who writes a series of funny books about vampires) and Janet Evanovitch's Stephanie Plum series.
I also love to cook so my TV is usually tuned to the Food Network, whenever I'm not reading.

Another one of my interests is the Alabama Gulf Coast, or the Redneck Riviera as we call it. Down there you will find a wonderful roadhouse called the FloraBama! It's a class act dive! Exactly 3 years 1 month and 1 day after Hurrican Ivan tore through Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area, the Flora~Bama finally got the permits it needs to rebuild the main bar!!!!!!! It's promised that the new bar will be just as tacky as the old one. In fact after Ivan while cleaning up they found some of the old stuff that used to hang from the ceilings and walls, so it will be our new old dive :) I can't wait!

I'm not much of a movie goer unless it is a King based movie. Of those my favorites are Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, 1408, the mini-series of The Stand, Rose Red and Kingdom Hospital. Can't wait for the release of The Mist. I also am a huge fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. My favorite being Jesus Christ Superstar. I've seen it performed about 3 times and just loved the movie. I guess everybody in the world has seen Chris Crocker's "Leave Brittany Alone" video. I've watched several of his videos and I think most of them are done for "shock" value and/or entertainment. While I wouldn't call him a hero, this video does move me. While I'm a straight female, I have several gay and lesbian friends whom I love dearly. Gay hate is offensive to me. I think this video by Chris is more sincere than all of his others combined. Gay hate is a CRIME and those that practice it are pitiful. And it's not just practiced on YouTube, but sadly throughout the "real" world. Warning to those with virgin ears, the "F" word is prominent in this video so be forwarned before you hit the play button.

About me: Well Howdy! I'm Missi and I live in Pike Road, AL, population 375, if you don't count the cows and horses. I'm married to Jefferson Davis, Jr, no less,and have 6 furbabies. One Shih Tzu Harley,my new Shih Tzu puppy, Sampson aka Sammy, a big black lab named Bubba (it's a national law down here that if you have a big black lab you have to name him Bubba!)and 3 pound kitties,Punkin, Bama, and Lucky, all shades of orange and white. Living in Pike Road is living in the "country" Our house sits on about 3 & 1/2 acres. But what the heck we have cable!!!!!
I'm also a SKEMER and proud to be one! SKEMER stands for Stephen King E-Mailers, and no we don't e-mail him! LOL his e-mail address if he has one is more guarded than the President's security! We have a newsletter that comes out with posts from various SKEMERS a couple of times a week and Chris (our benevolent dictator) keeps us advised of the newest upcoming releases on King books, movies, DVDs, etc. We have a yearly "Con", usually held in Bangor (I pronounce it Banger, but was promptly told by my dear Yankee friends that is was pronounced BangOR) NO Mr. King does not come to the Con, in fact he usually conveniently arranges to be out of town that weekend :) But we have great fun together online and off. It was my dear friend CJ that got me started on MySpace and she's met Stephen King in person 5, count them 5 times!!!! While not born in the South, I've lived in the south all but 1 year and 6 months of my life, and I'm 52 years old (53 this November) That makes me a GRITS, Girl Raised In The South. I'm a Redneck and proud of it. Now for those uneducated that doesn't mean racist, bigot, or anything along those lines. It means I'm a Southerner dammit and I'm proud to be one! I keep telling my darling Yankee friends that they have a total misunderstanding of what the South is all about. We don't shoot Yankees on sight...well anymore :D And I always wonder, when we have a natural disaster down here, like tornados, hurricanes, etc., why the Northern news folks always stand up and seem to shout "Hey the most redneck person out there, we need you on camera". Then you usually get JimmyBob with his Earnhardt baseball cap on, (God rest his soul), chewing a wad of tobaccy, and Loretta Lou is always at least 300 pounds, wearing her hair in curlers, and looking over their single wide and everything that was lost. Hey that is NOT us, well not most. That is the Northern newsmedia idea of us, us meaning Rednecks or Southerners! And just in case you don't know we have a really GREAT Southern National Anthem ... what song did y'all want to hear?

Some folks ask me about my screen name, Proud2BWLVRebel. Well once upon a time there was this internet site called AOL, and they had hosts in their chat rooms and message boards. Said hosts were there to entertain the chatters/roomies, and help out when bad folks came into the room, like the 10 year olds who wanted so see how many times they would work the "F" word into a conversation. My hosting name was WLV Rebel. However, in it's infinite wisdom, AOL recently "fired" all their hosts, who were all volunteer hosts I might add, all we got is free AOL, whoohoo! So I made my screen name of Proud 2 B WLVRebel in honor of the position I once served and the roomies/posters I "worked" with.
PS The South done rose again, we just haven't let anyone know yet :Þ

Hey Robert, why aren't you doing a book signing in Montgomery? :) Those northern writers must be askeered to come down here but you and I know we live in Paradise. ROLL TIDE!!!! I'd also love to meet Paula Deen. She's on The Food Network, has a couple of restaurants in Savannah, GA, and is a perfect example of the classy Southern lady! LOL the only thing I have a disagreement about with her is how she pronounces pecan. She says it like PEEcan, while here in Alabama we say it more like puCons (as in CONventions). I've eaten at one of her restaurants, The Lady and Sons, and WHOOEE, what a spread. If you are even down Savannah way, be sure to drop in and get a taste of what true Southern Cooking is all about.
