Proud Valletta was born in the living room of the Moran household in Durham, NC. Inspired by the idea of passing a love of music on to his sons, Tofer began to record songs with his wife Vye and their friends in the style of sea shanties and folk ballads.
After a couple well-received busking expeditions around town, Tofer felt like the songs were ready to be converted to the live format. He formed a band from the core of busking musicians including himself and Vye as well as Paul, Brentley and Shoe that became known as Proud Valletta.
