THE LOS ANGELES WOMEN'S THEATRE PROJECT

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN IN THE PERFORMING ARTS

Writing---Acting---Singing---Comedy---Stage Plays---One Woman Shows----Set Design---Light Design---Costume Design-----

(LAWTP) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the education, support, promotion and production of live performance projects that are of interest and benefit to women.

In 2002, a 3-year study was released by the New York Council on the Arts revealing alarming statistics that roughly ONLY 20% OF PROFESSIONAL THEATRE ARTISTS TODAY ARE WOMEN.
Although women submit about half of all the works available to artistic directors, ONLY 16% OF PRODUCED PLAYS ARE WRITTEN BY WOMEN, and 17% HAVE FEMALE DIRECTORS.
Although great strides have been made in other fields, women continue to face enormous employment discrimination in the arts and media.

My Perfromance at Pride
It is official:
I will be performing at the Women's Stage at San Diego Pride on
Saturday, July 18, at 1:30 pm, right after the parade.
I will be doing a 20 minute set.

I will be reading poetry...
