"Professional Victims sound good loud. In fact, the Syracuse rock band's debut CD, "Penalties & Punishment," sounds great very, very loud."
-Mark Bialczak, Post Standard
We don't believe in God so let's just get that out in the open. We can't stand bands that sing about dreams, flying, California or saving themselves from themselves. Why? That's played out! We live for good music. The awful music motivates us to push on, and with that being said there is so much inspiration out there! Oh Lord answer our prayers and save us from ourselves.... we're dreaming of flying to California!
***BIO***
“We live for good music” The question is, just what do the Professional Victims think good music sounds like?
If you are looking for a new band, whose debut disc has hard driving rhythms with a marriage of gruff rock vocals and haunting hooks then this is it.
“Every time I get to track 3 I turn it up, no matter how loud I’ve already got the stereo playing” ~ Lynn H
“Despite avoiding overused themes, the music is easily accessible and songs like “Bury the Past” and “Red Velvet Rope” will become embedded in your mind after just a couple listens“~ Dave M
This music was born when Shawn Sullivan got out from behind his guitar, turned his talents to writing songs, and put together the perfect band to perform them.
Shawn Sullivan (vox, guitar, songwriter, producer)
Shawn wrote and recorded an EP entitled “The Gift & The Sickness” for the group Bitch Cassidy in 2005. After a brief tour of the UK and the US in 2006 he began crafting the songs for his new band Professional Victims.
Ashley Cox Sullivan (vox, piano, synth)
Cox is an established artist in her own right, having recorded with Clapton’s producer, countless solo shows, and dishing out 2 CD’s on her own. Ashley is a diminutive powder-keg who lives like she's about to explode with positive energy. She delivers passionate vocals that immerse the listener in harmony.
Cory Koniz (drums)
On Freya’s 2006 European tour Koniz added in “the bottom-heavy assault” and has stayed true to form on the debut disc “Penalties & Punishment.” On every track you can hear Cory’s hardcore background as he provides the backbeat for this rich and radiant collection.
