"More than anything, I want to convey to the listener that hip hop is more than just music…its a signal. It’s a sender and receiver…a voice that speaks and a listener that echoes both Noise and Silence. I want the listener to feel its duality and its uniformity. That’s my ultimate goal, the one I absolutely must follow."

I AM the Perpetual Nomad, the pensive traveler...I am the seeker of that which cannot be found and the bearer of that which cannot be sought. I am always on the journey of a constantly kinetic universe and as a product of motion, eternal through the experience of consciousness and mind, autonomous and independent of brain and cranial processes and functions. Through the billions of neurons within my being, I’ve formatted my individually conscious threshold into an interactive dialog between nations, thoughts, realms and membranes. This symbiosis corresponds into a direct correlation with sound as a reflection of God and the Energy of the Universes. Sound transposes position, just as the mind is not stationary, but omnipresent and just as truth is not local but universal. Okay, this is supposed to really about ME...but what can I say reallY! I'm a full-time Public Health Grad student, emcee slash producer slash musician slash artist slash Master of ALL with a range of polarity that expands beyond. To know me is to well, not know me!
Naiea is one of the illest females I have ever been blessed to meet and listen to. A product of a musical household, she was exposed early on to the sweet sounds of funk, jazz, and go-go, this laid the musical groundwork for her future. Growing up in what some call the golden age of hiphop, she developed her spitting skills at an early term in her life. She joined in with the big boys in ciphers when she was just ten years old, and as time passed she gained respect and confidence by honing her craft and creating lyrical soundscapes that left the listener enthralled and in awe.
When Common dropped his classic album “Resurrection”, Naiea knew it was time. Time to start penning the ill-type lyricals intended to reach the minds of the masses. She started keeping her rhyme books, and recording over instrumentals on tape to share with her friends and comrades. She began her quest to be heard thru open mic venues and local battles. A networking natural, Naiea gained contacts throughout the hiphop underworld and began recording with people from all over the east coast. From Brooklyn to Atlanta, Naiea has built with and inspired many of the country’s underground elite. She has been featured on the same albums with such artists as MF DOOM, and Styles of Beyond. Currently she is striving to perfect her passion and stays in the vocal booth preparing to release her debut LP and a few 12” drops. Every so often, she can be found walking through the velvet curtain of those long DC summer nights, and blessing the mic wherever an open one might be. After witnessing countless crowds at her performances, the only thing I can say is that, many heads were overheard talking about her abilities, her dope rhymes, nasty flows, and crowd controlling cadences.
My Pops ain't raise no pussy Wanna see a nigga kirk, there's ways 2 push me Come wrestle with the dog and get caught like a flea I got jumped in The Bates and I fought like a G So fuckin' with me's a big decision If U think I look like a bitch, then I'ma have 2 fix your vision I'll black both of your eyes up, black folks betta wise up Get your shit 2getha whether time is good or time's rough The crack baggers that pack daggers are backstabbers Or back shooters 'cause niggas they act Judas The devil steady comes upon us with the obstacles Crazy drama, now my lady's Momma's in the hospital And sometimes I think I'm losin' MY Moms She say she tired of the needles and the tubes in her arms But those tubes are the only way my Momma can live She's a reason why I stay away from drama and bids I done got knocked back 3 times at H.U. Dead Poet is back with “Now or Never” which is the first in a wave of new tracks that we will be putting out over the next few months. “Now or Never” starts out with a street corner beat box freestyle where Smooth Element gives an introductory to the status of society and how we with all of our supporters are continuing to build upon a solid foundation. The chorus of the track is voiced by both Jay and War with a megaphone to give listeners the feeling, image ,and emphasis of trying to voice ourselves across a large body of people. The verses by both Jay and War cover a large array of issues and topics in an aggressive rebellious manner to display how they feel about the current state that we are in. The beat is by way of the 17th Dimension of Dead Poet with additional production from the rest of the Dead Poet crew. Come by the page to listen for yourself and please feel free to provide us with any constructive and critical feedback.

ABOUT BIG TUNE
# BIG TUNE is an event/program that was created to showcase the musical talents of emerging as well as established producers...The Producers battle head to head through rounds of single elimination competition.
# The last Producer standing will be the Producer with the... "Big Tune"... and crowned champion of the event/evening...
# The event is inspired by the spirit of the Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall Culture where the term "Big Tune" is derived.. In traditional Jamaican Dancehall Culture a battle is referred to as a "Clash".
# Selectors (dj's) would "Clash" with other Selectors by spinning the latest/heaviest "Riddims"(songs). DJ's (emcee's) would record their own artistic interpretation or "Version" of a standard "Riddim that Selectors would play in the Dancehall.
# Whichever " Version" that was most favored by the people is considered the: "Big Tune"
# During "BIG TUNE" event, Producers are paired and then battle head to head.
The format is pretty simple:
a) Two producers share the stage each at their own station/table where they have 2 cdj's and a mixer that they will use to play there Tunes.
b) Producer (1) will play an original self-produced tune approx for 60 seconds...
c) Producer (2) will do the same.
d) Each Producer will play their 2nd original self-produced tune. This brings the end of the round.
e) At this point the host will inform the crowd that they have a collective decision to make...The Producer who elicits the largest response from the people/crowd will advance to the next round and be
