details.
Proyecto Latina is a collaborative between Teatro Luna, Tianguis bookstore,
and Mariposa Atomica Ink. We are excited about showcasing Latina talent
and are always seeking outgoing Latina poets and performers for our monthly
open mic series. Proyecto Latina takes place the third Monday of every
month @ Tianguis, 2003 S. Damen @ 7 p.m. Its an open mic so everything's game: Poetry, spoken word, music,
monologues, shorts y en el idioma que prefieras. So dust off your guitar,
dig up that poem, practice in front of the bathroom mirror and come out
to share with us. And if you're too shy to get on stage come and be one
of the lucky spectators. |
10-20-06: Proyecto Latina on NPR's 848.
Local Latinas take
the Mic
In this excerpt, poets Irasema Gonzalez, Silvia Rivera and Yolanda
Cardenas address everything from immigration to gangs and violence.
Proyecto Latina showcases the talents of local Latinas at Radio Arte
in Pilsen every third Monday of the month.
