Anything and everything! We fund all genres of music - from electronica to jazz, rock/pop to classical, folk to urban. As long as it's new and innovative, we like it.
The PRS Foundation for New Music (PRSF) is the UK's only independent funder of new music across all genres. Its main aims are to stimulate and support the creation and performance of new music in the UK, and to help this reach a wide audience. The Foundation provides essential core support for creators, performers and producers of new music and underpins exciting musical developments. This is achieved through its own funding schemes and partnerships with other organisations. Since March 2000 PRSF has supported over 2500 new music initiatives with over £10 million. The Foundation is widely respected as an approachable and adventurous organisation. It is known for funding a broad range of activity, from unsigned band showcases to composer residencies, and from commissions for new music to experimental live electronica. To see the different types of new music that we fund, just have a look at the eclecticism of our Friends - the vast majority of them have been funded by PRSF! The others are all involved in the PRS Foundation in one guise or another. For further details please visit the website www.prsfoundation.co.uk To sign up to our e-bulletin, click here
