Born in Washington, D.C. to a family of musicians and singers, William had an ear for music from a very young age. He recalls being captivated by songs like Frankenstein (Edgar Winter) which to this day is one of his favorite songs. William started playing bass around 1979. In the years following, he learned to play guitar and some keyboards. He always had the dream of producing a CD since first picking up the bass. He has now released his debut CD Pillars and Dreams in fulfillment of that dream. He encourages other to keep perusing after their dreams.
Thanks, William, for stopping by. I'm doing well. How about you?
I've joined ReverbNation, which is kind of like MySpace, but it has a lot of other features that MySpace doesn't provide. Check out my profile over there:
Thanks, Ps150.4, for accepting my request. Obviously, this is a bit of a departure from my "smooth jazz" stuff, but it was a very special and meaningful project. Hope that your CD is doing well, I still enjoy listening to it!
Hello William, I loved listening to "Pillars and Dreams" with its fantastic bass playing, lush electric piano and all around grooviness!
You have the melodic scope of someone like Charles Mingus, the bass chops of Marcus Miller and Wayman Tisdale, and the ability to be economical about putting some space in the music...something Miles Davis would've been proud of.
My favorites, which include Pillars and Dreams, C.A.T.S. and Never Forsaken, not only showcase those tasty and lush chord progressions, but also exhibit a positive and uplifting vibe.
Thanks for glorifying God with your immense talent!
Hello William, I just checked out the video on Drew's page and you were really carrying the groove and staying in the pocket! Congratulations on getting the gig with Drew. I also listened to the audio clips of "Pillar and Dreams" from your CDBaby page and you did a fantastic job. There's a nice variety of tunes on there and everything is played well. Most of all, you are to be commended for glorifying God with your music.
