"Incorporating a sound which combines Type O Negative and Paradise Lost"
"Melodic gothic rock/metal induced with expressive progressive elements."
The Pseudo Philosophers are an up and coming Male and Female fronted Gothic Progressive Metal band, based in London in the UK.
The band consists of Erin (Vocals), The PhanTom (Vocals and Guitar), Finlay (Lead Guitar), Andy (Drums and Keyboard) and Richard (Bass Guitar)...
Originally formed in November 2003 and reformed in January 2006, the band have gone through a steady transformation while still holding three of the four original members, PhanTom, Finlay and Andy. They have gigged in the likes of Brighton, Reading, Hastings, Central London and sunny old Croydon throughout the years, including venues such as the Black Sheep Bar, the Marlborough Theatre, The Rock Garden, The Standard Music Venue, The Purple Turtle and The Underworld.
Their first tentative album was completed within the orginal line-up at the end of 2005, and featured songs of an alternative prog rock feel. An EP had previously been released, which featured a few songs from the album. The album however never saw its release to the public.
Since the band's reformation in early 2006; introducing the insane bassist Sam, they released their second EP to date, "Novus Orsa" (available to buy online from pseudophilosophers.com, CDBaby.com, CDUniverse.com, iTunes). This EP gave a small taste of the musical style they were heading towards, a style that was said to combine progressive music, gothic rock and melodic metal.
The songs from Novus Orsa were played on radio stations around the globe; including Hard Rock Radio in the United States, Rebel Radio in the Netherlands and Total Rock radio right here in the UK.
The band are currently working on their debut album, while performing in and around London.
