It is truly a pain in the ass to maintain 5 different websites that host your music. I'll try and keep this shit recent.
So... I'm Jzero Schuurman, my life consists of much music. A little too much, at one point I was in 5 bands. I had forgotten what it was like to have a life. That had to change, now i'm down to two projects.
Lucid 44, aka Leslie Overland Calgary's troubadour of sad bastardism. Has taken on Dik Frieson and I too accompany him in studio/live for the next while. At least until he gets sick of us. I'm super excited about this year with Lucid 44, good things will be happening including a tour to the East Coast for September.
As for Psychic, well I'm recording all the time. I've got so much material it makes me sick to think of how much it's going to cost to release it. Leslie and Dik accompany with my slo stuff. We've toured a little this year. A split tour with Lucid 44 too the West Coast. Later this year I'm releasing an LP (vinyl/digital download only)I've commissioned Shammy from the Doers to get some artwork going. If things go well, I should have it released by Fall of 2009.
Other than that, Leslie and I have Lucid Pollution 88, our noise thing and a metal project called FLON with our friend Dan Wilson, that really hasn't taken shape just yet. I've been doing the odd noize show for Fake Jazz in Vancouver and Calgary's Bug Incision troupe (check out out my blog for the video and audio downloads). Brittle Siren's been shelved after 3 great releases including last years Lost City. Pete moved to Australia, at least temporarily. I spent some time playing keys/bass/drums etc. for some other great Calgary bands including, Jane Vain and the doesn't matter, Grandfather Fire, Lonely Hunters and Gutterawl.
So... if you like what you hear, buy a cd or email me about bookings. I've got my latest released Aug. 08' available everywhere online (iTunes, Emusic, Amazon, Rhapsody) Check out the link for Kerfmusic somewhere below this message and support Calgary's premiere download site. The CD is also available in Calgary @ Melodiya Records, Sloth, Hot Wax and Megatunes. In Vancouver at Scratch Records! You can also buy releases for the above mentioned bands at these locations. If you want one of my free demos, drop me a line.
cheers
jzero
