About Psychobolia ***new album out!***BOOKING SHOWS!***
***IN THE BEGINNING...***
It was in October 2000 that Gogo decided to form a death metal band, influenced by Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, in addition to Slayer for a thrash touch. Playing the drums, he is then joined by two guitar players and he asks his friend Aurélien, who works in a recording studio in a Paris suburb, to come and play bass with them. Their style was soon defined, with Gogo as the main composer when the band recruited Dessil in December 2001 to replace one of the rhythm guitarists and to bring some fresh ideas and new compositions at the same time. After trying several singers, Guillaume, a guitarist in the thrash-death band Outcast, in which Gogo also plays the guitar, is eventually recruited in March 2003 to sing and replace the original guitarist. Guillaume then has a hand in composing new songs with Dessil and Gogo, the latter remaining Psychobolia's main composer. The group is complete at last and in May 2003 Psychobolia was born.
***THE LINEUP EVOLVES...***
Late in 2004, Guillaume and Dessil both left, and John brought his diseased guitar skills to the band. Him and Gogo knew each other from having briefly played in a local death metal band, Devastated, which they both left because things were simply not progressing fast enough. Together, Gogo, John and Aurélien have the same exact tastes in music, and since they live in the same neighborhood, the 3 of them increase their practice frequency to 3 times a week, which reflects itself in the quantity and quality of the music. Early 2005, Psychoblia hooks up with Caroline, a brutal singer who helps make this lineup the most solid one ever. Quite feminine in appearance, her voice contrasts sharply with her image, and other singers are quite simply left in the dust. They play their first show at midnight at the "Fête de la Musique" in Paris (the band will forever remember the 50-something lady (bitch!) who attacked Caroline because she didn't like the band's music!). Songwriting progressed at lightning speed, and a 3-song EP was unleashed in September 2005.
2006: The debut album "Fisting You All" was recorded during the months of May and June, mixed in August (mastered the following year). The recording was engineered by François Ugarte who would also end up playing bass on the album after Aurélien's last minute hand injury before entering the studio. François remained in the band for the shows that followed.
2007: Psychobolia signs a worldwide distribution deal with Xtreem Music in December. The band plays some shows (playing alongside bands such as Suffocation, Psoriasis, Impureza, etc...) and keeps writing music for further releases.
2008: "Fisting You All" is finally released in February! This year will also see the band embarking on its very first tour. In addition, Jacky joins the band on bass, as François's many other commitments (studio engineering, 2 other bands) and geographical distance make it difficult for him to invest much time in Psychobolia.

Résumé des épisodes précédents : Palem à passé son permis bateau à la piscine municipale de Bondoufle. Pour arroser çà il se dit qu’un concert sur une péniche serait du meilleur goût. Oui, mais Pedro n’aime pas le poisson (beurk), Jl est malade en bateau (encore plus beurk), Paco est un pilote de hors bord militant qui n’aime pas les bateaux qui se traînent (il trouve çà beurk) et en plus sofff préfère que le bateau reste à quai au cas où quelqu’un aurait le mauvais goût d’arriver à la bourre (ce serait… ok stop). Résultat ? Vous les retrouverez accompagnés de Rosemary sur la péniche Antipode le 10 décembre à partir de 20h pétantes (le bateau sera à quai mais c’est pas une raison pour être à la bourre) face au 55 quai de Seine, Paris 19ème et le concert sera à 5 euros (une broutille pour un épisode unique façon la croisière s’amuse) On part en live ?

Doom will never die, DOOMRAISER too! As one door closes, another opens. Valerio has decided to leave the band; he wants to concentrate more on his other projects. We all wish Valerio the best of luck with his new vocation. He was, and remains, a formidable guitarist and was an integral part of DOOMRAISER. However, it is with great pleasure that DOOMRAISER announce that Valerio’s replacement is to be none other than our good friend and brother, the fearsomely talented musician Willer. He played bass with evil blacksters Grimness and he’s involved in Black Land, an awesome and obscure heavy psychedelic band from Rome. Practices have been going very well, and Willer is already adding a new, acid and exciting dimension to the band as a whole. His first gig will be at Sinister Noise Club in Rome on the 21th November: a special and drunken night celebrating the birthday of one of the most important Italian underground rock scene club! Stay tuned… and slower, harder, drunker!
