  • Bio

.. .. .. I wrote this not long ago: "Psychonaut is meant to be my "safety valve" and a way for me to shout it out loud when I need to. At the moment it is a one man thing and I plan to get back on stage in 2008 with this project. The rest of intended 30-minute material will be uploaded here as finished and videos will follow..." At this time, 30-minute material is ready and was performed live twice, once with a drummer, good old friend of mine - Kresimir Oreski. Video for Free Fall is in making and should be finished in a couple of weeks. Some live footage should also be available soon. We're on track!...:) Thanks for your support! Yours, Independent Saint

  • Influences

From the permanent imprints in the inner fold of his temporal lobe, Independent Saint created the outlines for his latest solo project - Psychonaut. Meant to combine the higher levels of consciousness with computed vibrations, Psychonaut should feel like electronic ayurveda, an esoteric and energetic travel through time, space and human mind. Knowledgeable friends of mine classified this music as Dark Electro Pop. I decided to call it Dark Electro Punk. The feel of Psychonaut is a result of various influences stretching over a long period of time. In elements it reflects psychodelic and experimental rock (Doors, Pink Floyd, Residents, Pere Ubu...), punk (Clash, Devo, Pankrti, Dead Kennedy's...), dark/goth (Joy Division, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Marilyn Manson, Ramstein...), electronic and similar (DAF, Front 242, Art of Noise, Borghesia, Depeche Mode, NIN, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers...). Some of these bands I know by heart. Others maybe made a song or two which made a permanent mark on my musical growing up. I have listened to many other bands and kinds of music as well, but the Psychonaut project derives from this line of influence.
