Hey everyone! My name is Ellie and I'm the new Boiler Room Music Intern!
If you don't know anything about the boiler room, I would suggest checking out the Boiler Room myspace page. Basically, the Boiler Room is a non-profit, youth oriented, volunteer run coffehouse located downtown Port Townsend Washington.
If you would like to play a show here at the Boiler Room, this is what I would like you to keep in mind:
1. We definitely can't pay you and we ask that you don't charge money at the door. You are more than welcome to ask for donations, sell cds, shirts, etc.
2. If you are communicating with me about a show, please leave the e-mail address and/or myspace profile you can be reached at, Phone contact is great as well! I would very much appreciate that the artist(s) playing or organizing the show communicate with me directly and not through another person as this can cause problems for your show. It makes everyone's lives that much easier!
3. If you are going to play a show here, please, please, please let me know in advance if you need me to make a flyer for you (i don't mind making them as long as I have plenty of notice). Also, please let me know if you are planning on bringing additional acts with you or need me to find some local acts to play with you.
4. I prefer to have shows mainly on Friday and Saturday nights. I can be very flexible about this, but we (the Boiler Room) try to save some of our other nights for other activities (for example we have a gallery walk with a featured artist the first Saturday of every month and we have Open Mic every Thursday as well as a Hip-Hop Open Mic and other groups such as Writers Group, Art Group, Movie Night and Game Night).
5. The Boiler Room isn't very big. Our max capacity is 49 people. So, basically this means, don't expect a hundred people to show up to watch you play. But realize that the people who do come will love you!
That's the basic run-down on what goes on here! I am very open, so just email me and let me know your situation and I will try to work something out for you. Thanks for checking out the page. Thanks so much for supporting the Boiler Room!

Also, if you're in the Salt Lake City area let me know, we are trying to build a really strong local fanbase and always looking for people to jam with! Get with us early and we'll hook you up when we're huge...which will probably be in a week or two.
