PT.CORE is the first 100% Hardcore event ever made in Portugal.
Altough that 1st event was in September 2006, the ideia existed for many many years. The Hardcore scene was small, and tough many people talked about a rave, it was never possible to make it real. With the emerging number of people listening to Hardcore in Portugal, the support of www.thunderdome.web.pt, which was becoming more and more visited and known internationally, it was clear an event was needed. 5th Raider, came up with the concept, logo and name, which reflects the national origin of this project, and the affilliation with all styles of core, from Gabber to Speedcore, Noisecore to Happycore, Breakcore to Digital Hardcore.
With the organizing help of KUT, Genius DJ and Hefesto, 5th Raider could finally make an old dream come true. On Tocsin Club (an industrial/metal bar), 7 TVs playing crazy videos by 3 Vjs (RT, Phi-Rat and Push) along with the unrestricted sound limit and sound diversity played by the DJs (5th Raider, Hefesto, DDK, Genius DJ and KUT) made the crowd respond very well - the party was a success and helped to establish an event in the Portuguese Hardcore scene.
The ideia and requests for PT.CORE 2 were already in the air before PT.CORE 1 ended! Asuras meanwhile entered the PT.CORE crew. PT.CORE 2 was brought to light and was a sucess, larger and better than the first one. So we went for PT.CORE 3 in a different city: Oporto. Also worked out pretty well... :)
PT.CORE 4 returned to Lisbon in 2008.
We are heading now for PT.CORE 5...
Some tried to imitate the concept in Portugal, but PT.CORE emerged when no one wanted to invested in this musical genre. PT.CORE stands for total diversity within this broad extreme style, for quality and innovation, for spreading new talented artists, and for friendship of all those who support us. It’s a non-profit event, dedicated to a small, but good Hardcore scene.
